Job Title: Senior Software QA Automation Engineer, AI Systems (SuperAgent Team)
Location: Cork, Ireland
Reports to: Software Engineering Director
Job Overview:
Chips are the heart of the modern world, but the way we verify them is stuck in the past. The ChipStack SuperAgent Team is building the industry's first autonomous AI agent ecosystem designed to navigate the labyrinth of semiconductor design. However, in the world of silicon a "hallucination" is a multi-million dollar mistake. We need a hands-on automation expert to ensure our agents are as reliable as the chips they help design.
As a Senior IC (Individual Contributor) QA Engineer, you are the boots-on-the-ground architect of our testing infrastructure. Reporting to our QA Automation Lead you'll be building the sophisticated Python and TypeScript frameworks that put our AI agents through their paces.
You’ll be validating non-deterministic AI behaviors, complex RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines, clusters of coordinating agents, and the deployment of these agents into both cutting-edge cloud environments and secure, on-premise data centers.
Job Responsibilities:
Build the "Test Bench" for AI: Develop and maintain end-to-end automation frameworks using Python and TypeScript specifically designed to evaluate agentic reasoning and tool-calling accuracy.
Agent Evaluation: Implement automated "Red Teaming" and regression suites that challenge our agents' ability to solve hardware verification problems without hallucinating.
Full-Stack Automation: Own the quality of the entire stack—from the low-level API contracts of our agentic core to the React-based frontend where users interact with their "virtual co-engineers."
Hybrid Environment Deployment: Automate testing across diverse infrastructures, ensuring our AI agents perform flawlessly whether they are running on AWS/Azure or behind a corporate firewall in an on-prem cluster.
CI/CD Integration: Bake automated AI evaluation into our deployment pipelines, ensuring every merge meets the high-reliability standards of the EDA industry.
Job Qualifications:
Experience: 5+ years in Software QA Automation or Software Engineering in Test (SET).
The Stack: Expert proficiency in Python (for backend/ML logic) and TypeScript (for frontend/integration testing).
Infrastructure: Solid experience with Docker and Kubernetes. You should be comfortable troubleshooting issues in both cloud-native and on-premise Linux environments.
Automation Mastery: Proven track record of building scalable, maintainable test frameworks from scratch (e.g., PyTest, Playwright, or custom-built solutions).
Education: Bachelors in CS, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
Skills of Interest
Agentic Frameworks: Curiosity or experience with agent building frameworks
RAG & Vector DBs: Understanding of how to validate retrieval accuracy (e.g., measuring Precision/Recall for technical documentation retrieval).
Prompt Engineering for QA: Using LLMs to test LLMs—generating synthetic test cases or using agents to analyze failure logs.
The Domain: You don't need to be a chip designer, but a genuine interest in how silicon is built and verified will make you much more effective here.
Our Culture
Ship Fast, Ship Quality: We operate at startup speed but with the "zero-defect" mindset of the semiconductor world.
Strong Opinions, Loosely Held: We love a good technical debate. Bring your best ideas, but be ready to pivot when the data points elsewhere.
Craftsmanship: We take pride in clean code, even (especially) in our test suites.
Check what we can offer you:
Competitive salary
25 days holiday per year
Private Medical and Dental plans, Income Protection and Life Insurance
Group Personal Pension Plan
Cycle to work scheme and gym subsidy
5 days paid time to volunteer to give back to our communities
