ICONMA, LLC Shadow Group Leader-Internship in United States
Our Client, a Automotive Manufacturing company, is looking for a Shadow Group Leader-Internship for their Bowling Green, KY/Hybrid location. Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains a system for managing office routine
Assists in planning, conducting and evaluating projects
Monitors programs and projects
Frequent contact with others outside the work group
Maintains technical expertise and procedural knowledge
Keeps supervision advised of work in process
Assumes operational assignments as a working member
Assists in the coordination of special or unusual projects
Shadow a Group Leader to learn day-to-day leadership activities within the Paint and Body Shops
Support safety initiatives, including observing job hazard analyses, participating in safety walks, and reinforcing safe work behaviors
Assist with quality call response, learning how to identify issues, contain defects, and support root cause and corrective actions
Observe and support throughput management, including monitoring production flow, addressing constraints, and escalating issues appropriately
Learn manpower management, including staffing adjustments, task assignments, job rotations, and coordination with maintenance and support teams
Attend shift meetings, production reviews, and team huddles to understand escalation paths and decision-making expectations
Assist with basic data tracking and reporting related to safety, quality, delivery, and productivity
Progressively take on increased responsibility, with the expectation of eventually running the production line independently under defined standard work and leadership expectations
Support continuous improvement activities and standard work adherence within assigned areas
Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and teamwork while interacting with hourly operators, skilled trades, engineers, and salaried leadership
Story Behind the Need – Business Group & Key Projects Business Group – 2 departments (paint and body), the team consists of supervisors and group leaders and they manage a team of hourly people, this person will be responsible for managing throughput, safety, quality through these areas, they will train with one of the group leaders or a current hourly employee, they have some projects coming up and want these contractors to help run a group while other people are running these projects, these contractors will not actually be helping with the projects
These openings are both in the paint department
Managing the day-to-day quality and throughput issues
Team structure – ranges from 6-30 people
Requirements:
No preference on what degree area they are obtaining
Experience with excel, outlook, Microsoft office
They will get a lot of training on the job
Worked on cars and problem solved, find the true root cause of the issue
Soft skills – people skills, work with a variety of people, good communicator
