Job Purpose
The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for transforming complex data into actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision-making. This role combines advanced SQL expertise, strong analytical capabilities, and business acumen to partner with stakeholders and technical teams to solve complex problems, improve performance, and enable data-driven strategies. The Senior Data Analyst will bridge the gap between data, technology, and business outcomes in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Develop, write, and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets from multiple sources
Perform advanced analyses to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
Design and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations to support business performance
Automate recurring reports and enhance scalable, efficient reporting processes
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate requirements into analytical solutions
Conduct deep-dive and root cause analyses to inform recommendations and decision-making
Present findings and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including leadership
Serve as a subject matter expert on metrics, KPIs, and performance measurement
Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across systems and reporting tools
Partner with data engineering teams to enhance data models, pipelines, and ETL processes
Define and document business rules, data definitions, and quality standards
Validate and reconcile data to ensure reliable analytics and reporting
Lead analytical workstreams and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Support cross-functional initiatives with analytical guidance
Mentor junior team members and promote best practices in SQL development and analytics
Other duties as assigned
Use, protect and disclose patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
Understand and comply with Information Security and HIPAA policies and procedures at all times
Limit viewing of PHI to the absolute minimum as necessary to perform assigned duties
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field required
4–5+ years of experience in business or data analysis with strong SQL focus required
4–5+ years of experience in healthcare required
Advanced SQL proficiency required (e.g., complex joins, CTEs, window functions, indexing, optimization)
Strong understanding of data warehousing, relational databases, and ETL concepts
Experience with BI/reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar)
Experience with scripting languages such as Python or R preferred
Familiarity with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) preferred
Experience in healthcare or other data-intensive industries preferred
Experience working in fast-paced or agile environments preferred
Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent analytical skills

Working Conditions
