Responsibilities and practice
Dentons US LLP is seeking a Managing Director with at least five years of experience to join the Firm’s Regulatory, Public Policy and Government Affairs Practice in Atlanta. The person hired for this position will work closely with our Public Policy and Government Affairs partners and be a key member of the team. Expected responsibilities will include, but no be limited to:
Working collaboratively on a wide spectrum of government affairs matters pertaining to state legislative and executive branch action
Supporting team members in delivering strategic advice and counsel to clients on complex political and business matters
Helping to grow and manage client relationships in the corporate, non-profit, political, and government affairs spheres
Performing general research and writing tasks for a variety of clients

Personal skills/attributes
Has excellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to effectively communicate practical ideas and solutions through concise written work product and direct client engagement
Is organized, efficient, and able to prioritize, delegate, and manage complex and detail-oriented assignments
Understands the importance of client service and exhibits confidence and diplomacy
Embraces teamwork and values collaboration
Technical skills
- 5-7 years of public policy experience required, along with a deep understanding of government at the state level
Other requirements
- Prior government experience strongly preferred
