PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT

Department: Build It Direct Supervisor: Division Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
  • Examine and interpret contract drawings, specifications, and addenda to identify design deficiencies, impractical details, and potential code violations. Ensure all required permits and licenses are obtained. Prepare detailed and accurate daily reports, including receiving and reviewing subcontractor daily reports on work performed, labor, and materials. Review and update all as-built drawings and project documents weekly.

  • Create and maintain a monthly CPM schedule, developing schedule recovery strategies and improvements as needed. Maintain project phasing plans and schedules to ensure craft workers, subcontractors, and vendors understand workflow and required sequencing for achieving project milestones.

  • Develop, plan, and implement—with the project team—all safety protocols, quality control procedures, jobsite security, field office layout, temporary utilities, staging areas, equipment needs, and manpower requirements.

  • Inspect, coordinate, direct, and manage the daily activities of subcontractors, suppliers, and Jackson’s self-perform crews.

  • Review and approve subcontractor and vendor monthly pay applications based on percentage of work completed. Review and manage all self-performed work.

  • Lead weekly meetings with project staff, self-perform teams, subcontractors, and/or the Owner to review progress, challenges, and upcoming activities.

  • Lead and support project staff and craft workers through training, mentorship, professional development, and consistent accountability.

  • Support business development efforts by participating in proposals, interviews, networking, and outreach opportunities.

    WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • 10+ years of experience supervising commercial construction projects.

  • Ability to read and understand project documents including plans, specifications, and contracts.

  • Strong understanding of labor, material, and subcontractor costs; ability to analyze reports for effective project management.

  • Experience managing subcontractors and self-perform labor forces.

  • Preferred experience with:

  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)

  • Procore

  • Bluebeam

  • ASTA PowerProject

    CERTIFICATES & LICENSES

  • Montana SWPPP certification (encouraged)

  • OSHA 30 training (encouraged)

  • LEED GA or other LEED certification (encouraged)

  • Lean training/certification (encouraged)

  • Current CPR/AED certification
