The Joint Commission Project Manager (IT Project Management Office) in United States

Overview

The Project Manager, IT Project Management Office (PMO) is a 12 month contract role responsible for managing multiple, complex enterprise-wide technology transformation projects across the Joint Commission Enterprise, namely Enterprise ResourcePlanning (ERP – Workday) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM – Salesforce) implementations.

This role provides end-to-end oversight of large-scale, high-visibility projects and requires deep hands-on experiencemanaging Salesforce and Workday implementations in complex, enterprise environments. The Project Managerpartners closely with business, IT, and external vendors to ensure successful implementation, measurable bestpractices, outcomes, and alignment with strategic objectives. It includes coordination with partners across theEnterprise, overseeing project implementations, managing and tracking project budgets to plan, and reporting,monitoring and evaluation of the projects. This work is done while also providing updates and interfaces with seniorleadership related to the progress and outcomes of projects. Acts as a thought leader in quality and performanceimprovement activities.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and support, program management, project management and project portfolio management process and tools for Information Technology projects that are aligned with The Joint Commission and Information Technology Strategy, new operating activities, and business unit priorities.

  • Designs comprehensive Project Management Processes and Tools including library of tools and templates, examples of successful deliverables / implementations, quality documents, gates with change and risk management that can be adopted for all project sizes.

  • Provides project portfolio management services and support during the planning and execution of projects: Project Planning Support, Risk Analysis, Project Measurement, Tracking, and Status – Ongoing weekly, monthly status meetings and reporting.

  • Develops/acquires project management training for PM’s and BA’s who are running IT projects that are part of the overall IT project portfolio.

  • Delivers Project Lifecycle Methodology practice and continuous improvements relative to project management, including implementation of an effective Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology employing standardized templates and tools and monitors metrics for Project gates that ensures effective repeatable project management processes and ensure compliance.

  • Provides project initiation (kickoff) support for new projects and programs to develop proper resource plans, communication plans, project charters and team structure to achieve the desired outcomes of the project measured against time, budget, scope and quality of the deliverables.

  • Works with IT leadership and PMO stakeholders to develop resource management plans for the year. Process and tools for resource planning, management and tracking are developed and used by all stakeholders and reports and metrics are produced as needed over time.

  • Tools- researches and implements PPM, PM and PMO software tools to improve the speed, efficiency and effectiveness of the project management process as well as the oversight and management of the project portfolio over time.

  • Metrics- Works with IT and Business leadership to develop metrics for PMO performance. Metrics are defined, data is gathered, and reports are built over time to ensure the TJC IT PMO is aligned with strategy and delivering a cost-effective quality service to the organization.

  • As needed, leads complex enterprise programs that generally have been assigned a medium to high corporate priority, have significant budget(s), and are higher risk.

  • Conducts software quality audits to measure and assure adherence to established software development life cycle (SDLC) methodology standards for software development, application integration, and information system performance, and corresponding documentation.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree required, masters preferred or 10+ years equivalent work experience.

  • Certified ProjectManagement is strongly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of Salesforce platforms (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Einstein AI).

  • Salesforce Consultant Certification is strongly preferred.

  • Proven experience project managing Workday HRIS and Financial ERP systems, as well as Professional Services Automation.

  • Proven project management skills. Minimum of 5 years of experience leading operational and/or strategic projects and facilitating multi-disciplinary teams utilizing proven project management methodologies.

  • Strong operational, presentation, analytic, critical thinking, interpersonal, and project management skills.

  • Extensive computer skills in Microsoft suite applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI. Experience using Project Management tools, such as Smartsheet preferred.

  • The ability to prioritize and handle multiple, extensive, and diverse projects and responsibilities simultaneously.

  • Proven experience leading divisional projects from requirements gathering to implementation.

  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with senior leadership as well as individuals at various levels of the

  • Enterprise, including ability to lead individuals in completing tasks, regardless of reporting relationships.

  • Ability to travel, as required.
