Summary of the Job:
The QA Automation Engineer role is responsible for testing software applications with a focus on quality and reliability. They are responsible for defining, implementing, and maintaining automation solutions and strategies within their team. They will work closely with their agile team and participate in agile ceremonies, contribute to developing acceptance criteria, create test cases and test scripts needed for successful execution of manual and automated functional tests. In addition, the role is responsible for ensuring that quality issues and defects are appropriately identified, documented, tracked, and resolved prior to release.

Apply Quality Engineering principles throughout the Agile lifecycle
Drive ‘Quality / Automation as a Team Mindset’ within the team
Exhibit domain knowledge and product expertise for supported applications
Decompose stories/business requirements into test cases that clearly articulate test objectives, steps, and expected results
Estimate, prioritize, plan, coordinate/perform and document results of test execution
Report, track, and retest defects/bugs prior to release
Ability to build, test, deploy, monitor, and maintain effective test automation solutions with minimal guidance and direction
Participate in and conduct regular test case peer reviews and automation code reviews
Collaborate with their delivery team to build automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline
Analyze and understand the current technology architecture, system interdependencies and application stacks
Exhibit initiative for self-learning of new technical skills and tools to grow in role
Can work independently researching, solving, and programming automation solutions
Helps cross-train and mentor new team members
The Ideal Candidate for This Role:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and/or certifications.
3+ years' experience with Playwright for UI and API automation (required)
Additional experience using UI and/or API automation tools a plus: examples - Selenium / Appium, IntelliJ, Cypress, Postman, Swagger, RESTAssured, SOAP UI, Maven and Docker
3+ years’ hands-on experience programming/scripting with JavaScript and/or Java
Additional scripting experience a plus: C#, PowerShell, SQL, XML.
3+ years’ experience executing all levels of testing (System, Integration, Regression, Performance, Database, and Cross Browser Platform)
3+ years’ experience in web, microservices, and database automation.
3+ years’ experience with Git as a version control system, in conjunction with solutions such as Bitbucket, GitHub or GitLab.
Experience working with automation frameworks.
Basic understanding of CI/CD practices using Gitlab and/or Jenkins.
Experience planning, developing, documenting, and maintaining a regression testing strategy.
Working knowledge of Test-Driven and Behavior-Driven development along with STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle).
Solid understanding of Agile QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience communicating complex information.
Knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Access.
Candidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.
Compensation:
Compensation range (base pay): $69,616.00-$114,867.00
This role may have a specific starting pay within this range.
Final compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level.
Work Environment:
It is anticipated that the incumbent in this role will work in a hybrid capacity, balancing in-person collaboration three (3) days a week with remote flexibility two (2) days a week. As part of our team, you'll experience the energy and relationship-building of face-to-face collaboration while still enjoying the flexibility of remote workdays. We provide the tools and technology to ensure seamless transitions between work environments, supporting your productivity wherever you are. Please note that work location is subject to change based on business needs.
