Job Summary
Under direction, is responsible for supervisory level work directing the activities of the Parking Enforcement Attendants. Exercises direct supervision over assigned staff.
This position is an "unclassified" position and has no disciplinary appeal rights to the Municipal Civil Service Commission. This position is likewise subject to at-will employment status and can be terminated at any time for any reason.

Essential Job Functions
Supervises Parking Enforcement Attendants.
Maintains employee performance appraisals and attendance records.
Reviews daily issuance of parking tickets.
Prepares and maintains daily, weekly, monthly and yearly reports on "boots", vehicles towed, etc., using basic office equipment.
Issues parking tickets, boots vehicles, reports meter malfunctions, and tows vehicles in violation.
Responds to inquiries and complaints, speaking to the public and/or communicating electronically to address their concerns.
Develops and conducts training and indoctrination programs for employees.
Coordinates with other divisions and departments on requests for new meter installations, new signs, restrictions on parking due to construction, festivals, etc. and on other parking related matters.
Installs wheel locking devices and repositions scooters, which involves lifting up to 50 pounds.
Coordinates and obtains wrecker service from Police Dispatcher.
Assures that safety policies and procedures are carried out.
Assist with complaints or questions in a professional manner.
Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency).
One (1) year of supervisory experience in a field which involves public contact or two (2) years of parking enforcement experience.
Must successfully complete the training course offered by the Department.
Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License with no more than three (3) moving violations within the past year.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including MS Excel.
Experience in public speaking.
Applicant Information
Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of City streets and highways.
Knowledge of City ordinances, codes and state laws related to parking of vehicles on public streets and properties.
Knowledge of department policies and procedures.
Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision and training.
Knowledge of safe work procedures and practices.
Skill in operating a personal computer and utilizing rudimentary software.
Skill in operating a bicycle.
Skill in utilizing a police radio.
Ability to use a "boot".
Ability to interpret and apply City ordinances, codes and states laws related to parking.
Ability to exercise good judgement and tact in tenuous situations.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City staff and the general public.
Ability to plan and organize daily, weekly, monthly, and annual activities
Ability to handle all the physical requirements with or without accommodations of the job.
Working conditions may be inside or outside with frequent exposure to temperature extremes, high noise, oily surfaces, and dust.
