The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies has a need for an Underwater Target Electronics Tech III to support our government customer located in Andros Island, Bahamas.
The Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission is to provide Naval Warfare Centers, the Fleet, and other customers with accurate undersea, surface, and in-air three and four-dimensional tracking sensor data and other unique testing facility support capabilities. AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) supporting Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E), and Fleet readiness assessment and training, and is Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC), Division Newport's largest single team project, providing support for both deep and shallow water test and training environments.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for performing detailed testing procedures, repairs, modifications, preventative maintenance, and final testing of electrical equipment for the Underwater Target department of the AUTEC Facility.
Performs detailed testing procedures to diagnose causes of equipment malfunction.
Disassembles components and traces circuit continuity through stages of equipment.
Repairs circuit wiring and replaces faulty components as required.
Performs authorized modifications, preventative maintenance, and final testing of equipment under supervision.
Installs tracking systems in direct accord with NAVSEA specifications and guidelines.
Prepare and issue EMATT’s
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Five (5) years electronics technology experience.
Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite products, with an emphasis on word processing.
Digital analog troubleshooting skills required. MK-30 Target Theory of Operations and Crane Operators Overhead Cat 3 certifications preferred.
Lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds of material or equipment.
Climb long flights of stairs and ladders at sea.
Pass a yearly physical as required.
Analytically proficient in both mechanical and electronic arenas.
Analytical skills to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems.
Detail oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Familiar with office equipment, such as fax machine and photocopier.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel programs.
Must be able to reside in remote location with limited medical facilities.

Valid Driver’s License and passport will be required.

REQUIRE DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
AS/AA in Electronics or equivalent military training.
REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:
US Citizenship is required
