POSITION SUMMARY

This position supports the design, development and testing of mechanical rotating equipment (fans, pumps and compressors) requiring innovative engineering solutions that enhance new product performance and reliability. The successful candidate will apply strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, analytical expertise, and a collaborative mindset to support our customers’ needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Layout and design of mechanical equipment and systems.

  • Generate complete drawing packages while applying ASME Y14.5M.

  • Performs calculations, analyses and testing to ensure suitability of design.

  • Solves problems related to the assembly, repair and testing of development and production hardware.

  • Works with colleagues in the department and in other departments.

  • Writes reports as required.

  • Presents designs to peers, other engineers and customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education:Bachelor’s degree (B.S.M.E. or equivalent) from accredited college or university.

  • 0 to 3+ years of experience in designing mechanical components/subsystems and applying ASME Y14.5M.

  • Works under constant supervision. Performs assignments of mild complexity and assists other Engineers.

  • Must have knowledge of drawing and drafting standards.

  • Knowledge of applied thermodynamics and mechanical design.

  • Experience in the development of military or aerospace equipment is a strong plus.

  • Understanding of military specifications, environmental specifications, and test specifications a plus.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

  • Hands-on test and hardware experience is required. General machine shop experience is a plus.

  • SolidWorks CAD system. Hand tools. May use mechanical hand tools when assembling prototypes or test setups.

  • Must be a US Citizen.

    Competitive Compensation

  • Pay Range: $69500 to $115000 annually

  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
