RESPONSIBILITIES

I. JOB SUMMARY:

• The Clinical Operations Manager is responsible for daily operations of the nursing unit, and supervision and support of personnel and patients. Includes administrative duties and may include hands-on clinical duties and responsibilities. Assists in setting the standard of care in the department, consistent with the mission, vision and philosophy of the organization.

• Participates in the administrative and operational management and long-range planning of unit(s) and area(s) assigned as required.

• Serves as the manager in the absence of the department manager.

II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

A. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Seeing. Hearing. Speaking. Finger dexterity.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

• Subjected to noise/vibrations from intercoms, telephones and monitors.

• Exposure to body fluids and communicable diseases.

• Frequently works on multiple tasks and priorities at one time.

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A. EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing.

• Master's degree preferred.

B. CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

• Current Hawaii State license as Registered Nurse.

• Depending upon area of assignment, specialty certification/training may be required.

• Current BLS certification.

• Must meet and maintain credentialing requirements with the State of Hawaii Child & Adolescent Mental Health Division (CAMHD).

C. EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum three (3) years progressive experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care facility.

• One (1) year supervisory/leadership experience.
