As a Maintenance Technician II (Electrical Controls Technician II), you will play a hands‑on role in keeping critical pipeline infrastructure operating safely and reliably. You will apply your technical expertise to maintain, troubleshoot, and operate equipment across multiple platforms and locations, while also taking a lead role in work permitting and maintaining clear, timely communication with Gas Control to support smooth day‑to‑day operations and resolve issues as they arise.

What you will do:

  • Identify and respond to abnormal operating conditions while consistently working safely and actively participating in safety programs.

  • Perform all duties in compliance with Company policies, regulatory requirements, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including accurate and complete documentation and reporting.

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain pipeline assets, including valves, corrosion chemical pumps, and pigging operations (launching and receiving pigs at various locations).

  • Coordinate and lead permitting and work activities for internal technicians and external contractors performing maintenance or repairs.

  • Maintain effective communication with Gas Control regarding daily operations, operational issues, and system status.

  • Work collaboratively as a team member, support measurement, and I&E technicians as needed, and complete field responsibilities such as One Calls, right-of-way maintenance, and grounds upkeep.

  • Ability to operate equipment such as but not limited to; outboard Enbridge boat.

Who you are:

  • High School Diploma and typically 2 years of directly relevant training and experience.

  • Must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License.

  • Must demonstrate a detailed understanding of Enbridge Safety Policies and Procedures and act in accordance with them at all times.

  • Strong technical and analytical skills demonstrated through training, formal education, and/or experience.

  • Communicate verbally and in writing to collect and relay basic facts.

  • Willing to assist with more complex tasks, equipment and procedures.

  • Able to work with significant independence.

  • Proficient in the use of standard office software applications.

  • Able to work and contribute to a team environment where inclusiveness, integrity, honesty, and openness are valued.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily field-oriented (outdoor) with specific office (indoor) functions for training, meetings, and documentation of required tasks dictated by the Department of Transportation and other regulatory agencies for which Enbridge must comply.

  • Must be able to perform physically demanding activities in all types of weather conditions.

  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, shift, on call & standby, and travel overnight as required.

  • Currently resides or is willing to relocate within 30 miles of the assigned reporting location.

The successful candidate will undergo various background screening that includes but is not limited to a 5-year driving record, criminal check, a company sponsored medical and drug testing.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 50 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
