Job Description
SUMMARY OF POSITION :
The Primary responsibility of the Lead, Security Officer is the safety and security of employees, property, information, and the reputation of the Par Health Webster Groves Site.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Functions include but are not limited to:
Prevent diversion of Schedule I–V pharmaceutical‑grade narcotics and List I precursor chemicals.
Protect DEA registrations by adhering to all applicable DEA rules and regulations.
Handle sensitive information and situations involving company property, employees, incidents, and investigations with discretion and professionalism.
Serve as an integral part of emergency response efforts, including chemical, medical, fire, and severe weather events.
Act as a primary point of contact and coordinate with local Police and Fire Departments during emergencies.
Issue visitor and contractor badges, ensuring individuals are authorized and appear on the approved access list.
Manage security-related contracts for the site.
Control plant access and maintain oversight of employee, contractor, and visitor movement on the property.
Operate as the communication and dispatch center for Environmental, Safety, Security, Maintenance, and Manufacturing activities across the plant.
Conduct security patrols and surveillance of all plant property, facilities, and parking areas.
Monitor alarm systems, including access control for lab areas, gates, secure doors, parking lots, and other restricted locations.
Control the entry and exit of all persons, materials, chemicals, and mechanical equipment entering or leaving the facility.
Manage and maintain security camera systems and software.
Maintain familiarity with procedures related to hazardous material spills, injuries, and emergency response protocols.
Receive training in criminal investigation, sabotage prevention, and industrial terrorism.
Complete ongoing professional development through local colleges and approved programs, including: St. Louis Police Department courses for Private Industrial Security; Training aligned with current industrial security standards; Criminal law, including workplace violence; and Firearms training
Enforce all Company Policies and Procedures as well as all applicable state laws.
Demonstrate proficiency in the appropriate use of force to protect employees, visitors, and company property, recognizing the inherent liability associated with security operations
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Ability to be approved as an Armed & Licensed Security Officer/Courier by Watchmen’s Division of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
Skills/Competencies:
- The position requires exceptional observation, verbal and written communication, investigation, de-escalation and negotiating skills. The Lead Security Officer must be able to express Company Policy to a variety of individuals. Many times, this verbal communication must be accomplished in potential hostile situations. Must be able to make written reports of all incidents.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- Graduate of Accredited Law Enforcement Academy.
Experience:
- 5-10 years of Law Enforcement.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE :
Lead, Security Officer reports directly to the Plant Manager.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be flexible and responsive to the demands of the business environment as well as the potential security risks to manufacturing plants in the U.S. Working hours are regular daytime hours but are subject to change.
The time spent on the floor may be extended periods of time within a manufacturing facility.
Must be willing and able to wear PPE including steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, earplugs, or equipment that may be required.
