ICONMA, LLC Fleet Support Engineer in United States
Our Client, an AV Manufacturing company, is looking for a Fleet Support Engineer for their Foster City, CA location. Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact for Tier 2 escalations on Compute system issues including GPU, PSU, SSD, networking.
Conduct comprehensive log review to identify hardware, software, tooling, and process failures on fleet vehicles
Develop thorough troubleshooting guides for Tier 1 and Tier 2 escalations, enabling consistent and holistic diagnosis across all service depots
Lead deep-dive investigations into novel failure modes using root cause analysis methodologies like 7-Step or 8D (8 Disciplines) problem solving techniques
Develop short term mitigations and long term correction actions to improve vehicle safety and update, and prevent recurring issues
Perform hardware bring-up and validation procedures for new vehicle components.
Monitor fleet-wide telemetry to identify emerging trends in hardware degradation or firmware/software regression before they become critical failures.
Drive closed-loop feedback by translating field failure data into engineering change requests to improve sub-system design
Requirements:
BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields with a minimum of 2+ years of relevant industry experience
Experience and skill in determining the root cause of complex issues involving HW, FW, and SW
Deep understanding of computer architecture, GPUs, PCIe devices, SSDs, network cards
Experience with the Linux platform - debugging failures using command line tools, parsing kernel and system logs
Experience with diagnostic tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes/picoscope, CANalyzer, thermal cameras)
Knowledge of automotive protocols such as CAN and automotive ethernet
Knowledge of computer networking (TCP/IP, UDP, SSH, firewall and security basics)
Experience with diagnosing complex issues with sensor systems (LiDAR, camera, radar)
Experience with harness debugging and repair
Proficient in Python and git/version management tools
