OVERVIEW

The Senior Director of Finance provides strategic financial leadership that supports the day-to-day finance and operation, including sales collaboration activities, which focuses on corporate finance, credit and collections, inventory accounting, and revenue-related tax activities. This role will manage CMSU and other Canon Medical entity's tax strategies from returns, filings, entries, advance pricing agreements to audits. The role will supervise multi-level roles from independent contributors to directors managing multiple teams, as well as the corresponding impact each team supports when creating the general ledger, all while adhering to company policies, values, and principles. This experienced Director reports directly to the Chief Administrative Offer (CAO) and must be a strategic thought partner that provides hands-on budgeting, forecasting and financial planning strategies while partnering, guiding and ensuring compliance with government regulations and competitiveness with other organizations; as well as integration planning for acquisitions and/or mergers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Financial Management:

  • Appropriate review of tax strategy and returns. Financial statement correctness and completeness. Budgets, Forecasts and analysis to assist management.

  • Review, analyze and make recommendations regarding customer credit worthiness through financial statements, bank and/or trade references, or historical data within CMSU.

  • Forecast and assist in cash collections on a monthly basis to help achieve corporate cash budget.

  • Prepare and provide appropriate management with month-end reports including Order Activity, Unbilled Receivables, Accounts Receivable Summary Reporting, Top Problem Accounts for Sales, Service and Ultrasound.

  • Prepare quarterly Specific Reserve Analysis (quarterly) and AR Aging MBRM (monthly) to VP Finance and Accounting Manager.

  • Prepare and distribute AR aging reports, cash forecasting inputs, and collection status updates to leadership. Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies, and regulatory standards.

  • Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and efficiency gains across the AR cycle.

  • Assist CMF debt restructuring efforts in cases of default, bankruptcy, or business closure. Coordinate with finance, legal, and service teams to minimize financial loss while supporting customer recovery.

  • Engage with bankruptcy trustees & potential lessees to manage debt assumptions & comply with legal proceedings.

  • Present recourse requests with CMF to CMSU Officers for approval (transaction summary, financial analysis, & total exposure).

  • Maintain and report active recourse and residual guarantee database, on a quarterly basis to the CAO.

  • Operational Management:

  • Conduct monthly conference calls with Region Sales and Service Managers to review problem aging accounts and solicit assistance as needed. Identify appropriate action plans by account assigning responsibility for completion.

  • Deliver MTD and YTD booking/funding volumes and profitability reports from CFS.

  • Provide credit guidance for prospective cash customers. Assess customer credit profiles using financial resources (Definitive Healthcare, DAC Bond, Bond Ratings, and Experian).

  • Collaborate with BU to understand and develop pricing to control margins.

  • Vet alternative deal structures before presentation to customers to ensure alignment with risk and profitability goals.

  • Monitor ageing reports. Implement strategies to reduce Days Sales Outstanding and minimize delinquent receivables.

  • Coordinate with sales, service, and legal teams to resolve billing issues quickly.

  • Manage semi-annual credit reviews of lessees to support recourse reduction or release requests.

  • Responsible for tax strategy for Canon Medical and other Canon Medical entities.

  • Supervision Responsibilities:

  • Identify and communicate job responsibilities to subordinates; coach, counsel and direct employees in achieving performance objectives; review performance as required and revise.

  • May supervise comparable roles in the future if team expands.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • GAAP, IFRS, US Tax Policy, Budgeting, forecasting, analysis and inventory control. Drives operational excellence, planning, execution, achievement, and alignment with organizational financial objectives.

  • Working knowledge of Financial Accounting Standards, particularly ASC 842 (Leases) and ASC 326 (Credit Losses).

  • Exceptional presentation, communication, problem-solving, planning, and analytical skills. Adept at persuading stakeholders and negotiating win-win outcomes.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams, vendors, and cross-departmental projects.

  • Proven ability to drive organizational changes, respond to dynamic environments with agility, and guide teams through transformation.

  • Strong command of financial statement analysis, full financial product literacy, and experience directing financial engagements, including Delinquency management programs

  • Contract negotiation

  • Oversight of customer relationships

  • Knowledge of inventory systems such as BPCS is highly desirable.

  • Advanced proficiency in PC applications.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration.

  • 15 years' direct experience including at least 10 years minimum managing teams.

  • 5 years' relevant and progressive finance experience in a similar industry (medical device).

  • 5 years' relevant finance experience in commercial sales, manufacturing, management of portfolio of companies, including subsidiaries, and experience in growing business through organic growth and/or merger and acquisitions.

  • 5 years' relevant finance and accounting management role in a matrixed global organization.

  • Proven track record overseeing at the following functions: Finance, Accounting, Tax, Inventory, Operational credit and collections.

  • Pay Information: Min Base $172,300 to Max Base $287,300 (annual equivalency), DOE
