Work Schedule
This position requires three days per week in office (Tues/Wed/Thurs) at 100 Church St. New York, NY.

Position Summary
Modernize existing Python scripts currently running on a virtual machine task scheduler by refactoring them into well-structured, maintainable, and production-ready codebases
Rebuild legacy automation using modern Python best practices, including dependency management and packaging with Poetry
Improve reliability, readability, and long-term sustainability of analytics and operational workflows, reducing technical debt and operational risk
Partner with analytics and operations stakeholders to understand existing workflows, business intent, and system constraints behind current scripts
Implement consistent project structures, documentation, logging, and error handling to support future enhancements and smoother handoffs
Validate refactored solutions through testing and controlled execution to ensure functional parity with existing scheduled jobs
Manage multiple refactoring efforts in parallel while clearly communicating progress, risks, and tradeoffs
Minimum Requirements
Experience with Python & SQL ; familiarity with scripting, automation, or data workflows
Exposure to GIT /GITHUB or software development best practices (project structure, version control, documentation)
Interest in writing maintainable, production-quality code rather than one-off scripts
Excited to learn how analytics and automationoperatein real-world, enterprise environments
Continuous learning mindset and strong problem-solving skills
Graduate students must be enrolled at an accredited institution or have graduated within 12 months of the program
Will not require sponsorship for employment now or in the future
Eligible to work in the U.S.
Minimum 3.0 GPA from an accredited institution
