Allied Universal Technology Services is looking to hire a Data Center Solution Engineer. The Solution Engineer supports Data Center Design consulting and security systems design and documentation. The position ensures that security solutions meet technical, operational, and regulatory requirements while aligning with global security standards. The role requires close collaboration with project stakeholders, including internal security teams, construction managers, architects, consultants, vendors, and integrators.
Pay: $85,000 - 100,000 annually
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design consulting services associated with security systems design for Data Centers and other critical infrastructure environments
Develop and maintain comprehensive multi-phase design projects and post-sale engineering packages, including layouts, diagrams, and network designs
Partner and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to produce construction-ready materials, such as installation diagrams, network designs, riser diagrams, schedules, functional narratives, and as-built documentation
Create and update performance-based and product-based specifications
Prepare pre-fabrication submittal packages for architect and engineer approval prior to installation
Maintain accurate as-built documentation throughout project life cycles and follow-on work
Utilize and enhance standard engineering templates, documents, and customer-specific submittals
Ensure technical compliance and cost efficiency through effective value engineering
Review proposals for product applicability and specification compliance
Collaborate with vendors to confirm functionality and integration of selected products
Supports development of internal engineering standards and engagement guidelines while staying current on security technology codes, standards and best practices
QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of five (5) years of experience with electronic security systems design, engineering experience or equivalent
Knowledge of security system design and technologies, including video surveillance, access control and intrusion detection
Familiar with systems such as Software House, Lenel, AMAG, Genetec, Avigilon, Brivo, or HID
Strong ability to collaborate with diverse technical teams and manage multiple large, complex projects simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication skills combined with analytical decision-making and influence skills
Proficiency in REVIT (BIM), AutoCAD, MS Office, Acrobat, Visio, and ability to interpret complex architectural and engineering drawings
Working knowledge of AC/DC circuitry, voltage drop calculations, and wire sizing
Experience designing enterprise IT network and storage solutions, including VMware, Cisco networking, NetApp/EMC SANs, and related data center technologies
QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
ASIS or BICSI certifications or similar
