About the Position

The Accounts Payable Coordinator is responsible for handling all aspects of the accounts payable process, including invoice processing, vendor management, and payment execution. This role ensures financial accuracy, compliance with company policies, and timely payments to vendors. Works Independently with little supervision.

Job Duties

  1. Review, verify, and process vendor invoices for accuracy and proper approval

  2. Match invoices with purchase orders and receipts (3-way matching)

  3. Enter invoices into accounting systems and maintain accurate records

  4. Prepare and process payments (checks)

  5. Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies

  6. Communicate with vendors regarding payment status and issues

  7. Maintain organized and up-to-date accounts payable files and documentation

  8. Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies

  9. Support managers with audits by providing necessary documentation requested

    1. Takes responsibility for personal growth and learning

    2. Treats all people with respect and is a "team player" within department and within organization

    3. Performs additional job duties as assigned and directed

    4. Must meet regular and predictable attendance requirements. This includes adhering to 1/2 hour for lunch

    5. Abides by department, personnel and company policies and procedures

    6. Exercises discretion and independent judgement

Qualifications

  • Must have a thorough understanding of the general ledger and have completed at least two years of general accounting courses.

  • Prefer 3-5 years previous Accounts Payable experience with invoice automation and 3-way match.

  • Must possess ability to operate copy machine and computer with accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Advanced computer accounting and MS Excel skills preferred.

  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with residents, staff and vendors using good communication skills as required.
