UL, LLC Senior Project Engineer, Wind Projects in Thailand
Independently determines project scope and objectives for wind energy projects by analyzing client requirements, applicable standards, technical documentation, and site-specific conditions.
Develops comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, resource allocation, inspection programs, and documentation requirements.
Manages multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery on scope, cost, quality, and timeline.
Projects may require frequent domestic and international travel to conduct or witness inspections, testing, commissioning activities, or site audits at wind farm locations, manufacturing facilities, or supplier sites.
Acts as primary technical and project interface with clients, clearly communicating project scope, technical requirements, costs, risks, and milestones.
Initiates and maintains proactive communication with clients to promote, explain, and support new and existing services related to wind projects.
Follows up on client inquiries, proposals, and ongoing projects, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
Communicates effectively with clients on complex technical issues, certification or conformity processes, applicable standards, and compliance requirements.
Negotiates project deliverables, completion dates, and documentation or sample requirements when scope changes or constraints arise.
Addresses client concerns and resolves complex technical or project-related issues using sound engineering judgment.
Provides expert technical assistance to clients related to wind turbine design, manufacturing, installation, inspection, testing, certification, and follow-up services.
Identifies non-compliances, deviations, or changes in project scope or specifications and formally communicates findings and impacts to clients.
Coordinates administrative and contractual aspects of project management, including documentation control, reporting, invoicing inputs, and internal approvals.
Serves as Project Manager/Project Engineer of record and acts as technical reviewer of record as assigned.
Communicates project status, risks, and results to clients through regular updates and formal technical reports.
Prepares and reviews technical reports, follow-up inspection procedures, conformity assessment documentation, and information pages.
Integrates continuous improvement principles into project execution, technical processes, and client interactions.
Resolves complex engineering issues associated with deviations, variation notices, design changes, or non-standard solutions by evaluating technical acceptability and risk.
Develops technical requirements, assessment approaches, or test methods for wind projects beyond the scope of existing standards or involving innovative technologies.
Coordinates and/or performs technical file reviews, design reviews, and compliance assessments.
Represents the organization on technical committees, working groups, industry forums, conferences, seminars, and trade shows related to wind energy.
May act as Primary Designated Engineer or Technical Authority for specific wind-related product categories or systems.
Provides technical leadership by directing, reviewing, and mentoring the work of assigned engineers, inspectors, or technicians.
Provides technical support across multiple wind-related product categories, systems, or operations.
Adheres to the organization’s Code of Conduct and all physical and digital security, safety, and compliance requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned.
University Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or Physics from an accredited program plus eight years directly related work experience.
Detailed knowledge of the technical vocabulary common to the appropriate discipline.
Working knowledge of conformity standards in use in areas of expertise.
Demonstrated ability to apply project-handling concepts in use in areas of expertise,
including application to complex, new, or unusual products.
Working knowledge of industry issues, needs, and problems.
