UL, LLC Associate Project Engineer - Material & Plastics in Thailand

The candidate will manage projects related to New Work Certification, Performance Testing, and Follow-Up Services for Engineered Materials, with a primary focus on the Material and Plastic industry. This position involves frequent customer interaction via email, Microsoft Teams, and phone, requiring strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

The candidate must work independently, prioritize projects based on customer timelines, and support the sales team in preparing quotes. Additional responsibilities include resolving non-conformances identified during follow-up sample testing under UL’s mark integrity program and contributing to special projects that support technical and professional development.

  • Manage certification, performance testing, and follow-up service projects for Engineered Materials (Material & Plastic focus).

  • Communicate with customers via email, Microsoft Teams, and phone to discuss technical issues, UL procedures, project costs, and timelines.

  • Determine project scope, develop investigation plans, and define specifications (cost, time, sample requirements).

  • Prioritize and self-manage projects based on customer timelines and estimated completion dates.

  • Support the sales team in preparing quotes and promoting UL services.

  • Resolve non-conformances identified during follow-up sample testing under UL’s mark integrity program.

  • Establish test programs by reviewing files, examining samples, and applying UL requirements.

  • Coordinate laboratory activities, including scheduling, preparing data sheets, and reviewing technician work.

  • Prepare reports, Follow-Up Service Procedures, and communicate project status to clients.

  • Integrate continuous improvement concepts into all aspects of work.

  • Assist in developing UL requirements, special test methods, and test equipment.

  • Represent UL at industry events such as seminars and trade shows.

  • Ensure compliance with UL Code of Conduct and security practices.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials engineering, Chemical engineering, Polymer Engineering or related field.

  • Minimum 1–3 years of relevant work experience (Candidates with no prior experience are welcome to apply)

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.

  • In-dept knowledge of material and plastic product development and testing is highly advantageous.

  • Familiarity with UL, IEC, and other international standards preferred.

  • Fluent in English with the ability to write technical reports.

  • Attention to detail, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

  • Team player with a proactive approach.
