Holycode QA Automation Engineer - PeriVision team in Romania
We at Holycode (https://www.holycode.com/) are currently looking for a QA Automation Engineer with strong skills and proven experience who is ready to dive into the PeriVision (https://www.perivision.com/) team, for a part-time engagement, to join our team of passionate IT professionals.
About PeriVision:
2.2 billion people suffer from vision impairments of which 50% could be prevented or cured according to the World Health Organization. At PeriVision (https://www.perivision.com/) , we combine AI algorithms, virtual reality and cloud computing to build the next generation systems to test visual function. To optimize our tools for clinical value, we take a disease-centric approach. The first condition we are targeting is glaucoma (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwz3KQoM_zw) . We address the large unmet need for more efficient and effective visual field testing in 100M glaucoma patients.
How your role fits in:
As a QA engineer you will test our medical software products from a user experience standpoint: you will help us expand our current platform with new eye tests and diagnostic capabilities. You will collaborate with the entire team, supporting other software engineers, UI/UX designers, researchers and the product owner by developing and prototyping features and functionalities according to user needs. The responsibilities will stretch across our entire stack: front-end, back-end and VR.
Your responsibilities:
Ensure end-to-end quality, safety, and reliability of medical software (SaMD) across web and VR applications (software and hardware).
Design manual and automated tests (integration, end-to-end, regression) covering real user journeys and edge cases
Execute manual and automated tests for each pull request, and for each release cycle (integration, end-to-end, regression)
Maintain and optimize test scenarios, regression suites, and test cycles with full traceability and the whole set of regulatory documents
Analyze test results, API responses, and system behavior; identify, document, and track defects with clear evidence
Contribute to test automation using Playwright and TypeScript, supporting CI/CD quality checks
Collaborate closely with developers, product, clinical, and business teams to improve testability and release quality
Support and evolve testing strategies within an agile, risk-based QA environment
Your qualifications:
B.S. in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
3+ years in Software QA, with at least 1 year in a regulated industry.
Strong manual testing skills: test case design, exploratory testing, regression testing.
Proficiency in TypeScript (or JavaScript with willingness to adopt TypeScript)
Hands-on experience with:
○ Cucumber.js and BDD/Gherkin syntax
○ Playwright for browser and API testing
○ Git and Bitbucket Pipelines (or similar CI/CD)
○ Jira and Zephyr Scale (or similar test management)
Nice to have:
○ Medical device software experience (IEC 62304, ISO 13485)
○ Experience with VR/XR testing
