Brown-Forman Maintenance Leader in Panama
As a Maintenance Leader, this position is responsible for the holistic management of the maintenance department's human and technical resources. The role involves coordinating, leading, and controlling all activities related to projects and preventive/corrective maintenance of equipment, machinery, and infrastructure. Acting as a People Process Leader (PPL), this position is directly accountable for managing the technical team, ensuring operational continuity, and the fulfillment of organizational goals. All responsibilities must be executed under strict compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards, while actively promoting a culture of inclusion, diversity, and high-performance teamwork.
Job Responsibilities:
-Design of an annual preventive maintenance plan for equipment and machinery in the processing area according to the characteristics of each one of them.
-Design of an annual preventive maintenance program for the company's infrastructure and systems.
-Control of maintenance costs of each one of the machinery, equipment, facilities and systems of the company.
-Direction of the 4 areas of maintenance (mechanical, electrical, services and preventive), together with management of elaboration..
-Planning and assignment of preventive and corrective maintenance activities of machines, machinery and equipment installations and systems to maintenance department collaborators.
-Control, evaluation and approval of requests for maintenance of equipment, machinery, facilities and systems of the processing, warehouse and administrative areas.
-Approval together with management of budgets and quotations related to the development of maintenance and referral to Treasury coordination for payment management.
-Management of corrective maintenance needs for machinery and equipment in the processing area.
-Management of the company's infrastructure and office maintenance needs.
-Attention to inquiries related to preventive and corrective maintenance of the different areas of the company.
-Development of suggestions for possible modifications for the optimization of spaces.
-Attention to suppliers and contractors related to the maintenance of the company's areas.
-Lead, supervise, and mentor the technical team (mechanical and electrical), ensuring efficient workflow, accountability, and high-quality execution of maintenance tasks.
-Define priorities and assign daily corrective and preventive maintenance tasks to technicians, ensuring optimal utilization of human resources.
-Responsible for the technical team’s schedule management, including shifts, overtime approval, vacation planning, and attendance control in coordination with HR.
-Conduct formal performance evaluations (KPIs), identify training needs, and manage the professional development of all direct reports.
-Provide necessary and timely information to Human Resources Coordination in order to comply with the commitments with the collaborators.
-Ensure that all direct reports strictly adhere to EPP, LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), and industrial safety standards, promoting a culture of zero accidents.
-Schedule the maintenance work of the production lines, trying to affect as little as possible on the packaging process.
-Review and adjust efficiently the changes in the lines to ensure compliance with production plans.
-Ensure the correct and actual recording of all information related to production daily.
-Ensure continuity on the packaging lines, during shifts.
-Convene and coordinate with the different packaging units the necessary meetings that benefit the operation.
-Participate in the weekly packaging meeting with the management.
-Analyze and report all the management indicators of the operation.
-Manage the PO for external services of maintenance and packaging line consumables, rental of IBS equipment and facilities (Forklift rental, Inks/Solvents, Leasing of equipment such as "strapping machine") and general services of IBS, (Electricity, Water, Condominium, Internet).
Required Experience & Education :
Education: College/University (Bachelors or Equivalent);
Experience:
3+ years’ experience with a computerized maintenance management system
3+ years’ experience in an industrial maintenance organization
2+ years of proven experience in a supervisory or team-leading role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Google Sheets and Access
Self-motivated with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks
Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently
Must obtain operator’s license and operate forklift
Demonstrated leadership and vision in managing groups and major projects or initiatives.
Strong interpersonal skills; able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the organization.
Ability to manage and complete assigned workload within established deadlines and to constantly seek new improvement ideas.
Ability to work under tight time constraints to meet departmental goals.
Ability to implement employee engagement processes and contribute to the growth of team-based leadership.
Demonstrated ability to use computer software with general computer skills.
Demonstrated proficiency in English
