UL, LLC Conformity Assessment Program Manager in Mexico

  • Acts as a conformity assessment resource to CPO staff in the development and implementation of conformity assessment requirements under their purview.

  • Serves as the next point of escalation after responsible conformity assessment staff.

  • Oversees staffing and assignments to support the development, maintenance and application of consistent, high integrity conformity assessment requirements and solutions.

  • Interfaces with business divisions and operations in the development of the annual plans and budgets by collecting, analyzing and communicating information.

  • Develops and implements operating goals and tactical plans.

  • Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.

  • Applies organizational policies and assures adherence to function procedures.

  • Monitors conformity assessment improvement activities to ensure that they are driving intended results.

  • Develops a fully competent staff by supervising the selection, development, training and employee relations.

  • Maintains a staff contingency and succession plan.

  • Develops staff performance measures and goals in support of UL strategic direction.

  • Manages the performance of direct reports by defining accountabilities, establishing performance objectives, providing career counseling, feedback and guidance, ensuring understanding of and compliance with all policies and requirements.

  • Fulfill Conformity Assessment Principal responsibilities, as well as other duties as directed.

  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.

  • Performs other duties as directed.

  • Advance level of english

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, International Relations, Business Administration, Political Science or related field.

  • 10 years or more related experience or demonstrated competency.

  • In-depth and/or breadth of expertise in regulations and applied conformity assessment.

  • Proficient in understanding of relevant international conformity assessment standards (CASCO toolbox) and their applications.

  • Advanced understanding of market trends impacting assigned area of responsibility.

  • Expert in the technical vocabulary common to conformity assessment services.

  • Ability to clearly communicate unique and/or complex concepts and influence others to adopt a different point of view.

  • Demonstrated ability to create, motivate and manage internal and customer meetings, negotiate and produce the desired outcomes.

  • Advanced project management and leadership skills to manage projects and people utilizing personnel from multiple disciplines and organizational levels.

  • Ability to identify and manage priorities as demonstrated through establishing, tracking, and meeting schedules for multiple projects while maintaining high quality and exceptional customer service.

  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a matrix organization.

  • Strong communications, interpersonal and networking skills.

  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • Open mindedness and ability quickly grasp new concepts and ideas.

  • Lead internal and external teams to solve unique and/or complex problems.

  • Utilize sophisticated analytical thought process to exercise judgement and identify innovative solutions.

  • Persuasiveness to influence the acceptance and implementation of the developed conclusions and recommendations.

  • Management of multiple projects while maintaining high quality and excellent customer service.

  • Willing and able to travel to meet position responsibilities.
