Overview
GitHub is building a world class Sales Development Organization and we're looking for the next generation of sales leaders to come in and build their legacy at GitHub. We help companies and organizations succeed by empowering them to build better software, together. As a Sales Development Representative you will profile ideal customers and markets for inbound lead generation, breaking into the largest companies in the world. We're customer obsessed and care deeply about delivering high quality work that surprises and delights our current and future clients.

Milestones
In 30 days you will be:
- Through onboarding, making your first impact on the team.
In 90 days you will be:
Ramped up and meeting or exceeding targets, learning more and more every day.
The only bad day is one in which you didn’t learn something.
In 180 days you will be:
- Mastering your craft, living in the accelerators, raising your hand for more responsibility.
Responsibilities
Qualify inbound prospective custom inquiries to identify appropriate parties to partner with/sell to by conducting a customer assessment of current needs and delivering the correct value proposition to meet those needs.
Work with marketing and sales to execute lead generation campaigns
Work with GitHub tools and technology to pass qualified leads to corporate or enterprise sales and accurately forecast opportunity creation
Contributes to creating and managing connections between necessary stakeholders within GitHub and customers.
Answer questions and qualify prospects to determine if there is:
Authority to purchase GitHub Enterprise
Need for GitHub Enterprise
Timing, the need for GitHub Enterprise is imminent (i.e., project needs it)
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
6+ months experience in business development, sales, consulting, or marketing
OR High School Diploma, General Educational Development (GED), or equivalent
OR equivalent experience.
Experience in a customer facing role that involves aiding customers with product offerings via email/online meeting/phone calls.
Ability to communicate effectively at a business proficiency level in both the English and Japanese languages
Willingness and ability to work from the Tokyo office at least two days per week to support in-person collaboration and team engagement
Preferred Qualifications:
1+ year(s) of experience in business development, sales, consulting, or marketing o OR equivalent experience.
Current knowledge of Git and GitHub workflows
High energy and positive attitude; Collaborative and team oriented
Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment; Desire to start a career in Sales
Willing to go the extra mile with a strong work ethic; self-directed and resourceful
