V2X Personal Property Specialist (PPSO) in Jordan

Under the direct supervision of PPSO Manager,the Personal Property Specialist Counselor/Lead, will oversee the Personal Property Specialist(s), ensuring service to all military personnel, family members, and DoD civilians in arranging shipment and storage of household goods and personally-owned vehicles.
The Personal Property Specialist Counselor/Lead will supervise the clerks in preparation of the required documents to facilitate shipment. Assist clerks and carriers in the inspection of shipments for restricted or prohibited items. Supervise the documents of verifying the weight of the shipment and provide all necessary documentation for shipping to the customer.
Responsibilities
Major Job Activities:
Counsel DOD military and civilian personnel of all ranks and grades to advise of shipping entitlements for the movement and storage of privately owned personal property, i.e. household goods (HHG's), unaccompanied baggage (UB), mobile homes, privately owned vehicles (POV's), pets, weapons and other items.
Shipments are to all points in CONUS and OCONUS
At the time of counseling , reviews applicant's orders to determine if shipment or storage may be authorized at Government expense in accordance with current regulations.
Questions the applicant as to their needs and the services he /she desires, i.e., method of shipment desired, mode of shipment, estimate of effects to be shipped and their weight, data on unusual items that would require special handling; date pick up desired; date required at destination, etc.
Route/Book shipment prepares Government Bills of Lading and distributes to carrier representative and destination transportation offices.
Prepare certified copies of GBL and GBL correction notices when required.
Initiate tracer actions through commonly used channels to locate lost or delayed shipments and missing items. Process request for shipments by the Personally Precured Move ( PPM ) method.
Compute estimated and actual cost, prepare documents required for service members and DFAS to settle all claims.
Process Claims for Reimbursement, determine entitlements and prepare documents for submission to DFAS for payment.
Conducts group briefings for commercial and Do It Yourself Moves either on site or at other locations.
Prepare and distribute documents for relocation moves in accordance with local contracts.
Compute and prepare documentation to collect excess cost on outbound shipments.
Collect excess cost and prepares documentation for deposit.
Conduct pack out Inspections, inbound inspections and warehouse inspections
Confirm Status of inbound property shipment and book delivery IAW orders.
Contact customer to establish date and time for delivery and pack outs .
Supervises Local National staff
Performs other duties and assignments as required

Minimum Qualifications:
Education / Certifications:
High School diploma or equivalent work experience in related field
Experience / Skills:
US Driver’s License.
Must be able to obtain a CAC card
Knowledgeable of packing/crating and knowledge in freight forwarding operations.
At least three (3) years' of related work experience.
Experience in Defense Property System is preferred
Formal transportation schooling is a plus. Knowledge of the Department of Defense and Military Traffic Management Command policies and regulations is desirable, also the DTR , JTR and AR 55-71. Experience in household goods movement operations, is a plus either Government or commercial industry.
Excellent Customer Services skills
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required.
Ability to establish and maintain and effective working relationship with external and internal customers.
Ability to keep records and prepare reports.
Must be a self starter , perform under minimal supervision.
Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing to customers and workers.
Respond to customer inquiries in a tactful and effective manner.
Prioritize responsibilities to handle a demanding workload.
High-level organizational and planning skills to efficiently and accurately manage workflow.
Software:
