Job Summary

  • As a member of the Rights and Permissions (R&P) team, you provide reliable support for routine licensing tasks that help safeguard Pearson’s products and services.

  • You will support the rights clearance function which enables the use of photos, videos and text assets within Assessment & Qualifications (A&Q) products and services.

  • You gather documentation, confirm pre-approved license terms, and track asset intake for specific learning products or marketing projects.

  • Working with colleagues you will manage data processing and other systems-based tasks for multiple, concurrent projects; your manager will help you to prioritize in a way that enables you to achieve your goals of accuracy and effectiveness.

  • You’re trusted to complete portions of the workflow independently, applying established rules and flagging inconsistencies or potential issues to senior specialists.

  • You participate in project meetings, contribute insights during process updates or asset audits, and steadily build your troubleshooting skills.

Purpose

  • To work within systems that support the acquisition of third-party media rights: financial processing, entering/managing data relating to image/text/video assets and running reports (training and support will be provided)

  • You will identify tasks within the systems that require escalation or enhancement (e.g., data inaccuracies, process blockers) and be responsible for re-opening and closing them

  • With support from the rest of the team you will proactively address any backlog of clearance tasks as well as maintain new tasks

  • A key aim of this role will be to work with the A&Q R&P team to support the completion (“closure”) of projects and to identify systems records that might need to be re-opened and remediated

  • You will work closely with the rest of the A&Q team and provide support for Project Managers in administrative tasks to meet project schedules

  • R&P projects generate documentation (digital files), part of your role will be to manage these files to ensure they remain organized and discoverable

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure project closure dates are met for all non-automated tasks

  • Monitor project dates for work in progress and request extensions for any that are not completed but are approaching their end date

  • Achieve clearance task targets to meet project deadlines

  • Add assessment logs to data management system after project close out

  • Download hi-res media assets (images/video) as required and upload to data management system

  • Create content plans (detailed lists of assets for inclusion within products) for small/ad-hoc projects

  • Process permission requests as appropriate to ensure that rights are acquired prior to publication / product release

  • Manage the upload of data for new versions of existing projects

  • Invoice management for clearance tasks that are cost-bearing

  • Use data to inform decisions and maintain compliance.

  • Apply ethical principles when reviewing AI-generated assets.

  • Engage with rights initiatives within the wider R&P function

  • Attend meetings across the line of business to communicate project status

Education, qualifications & training

  • Minimum of 1 year experience with educational publisher or equivalent, with working copyright knowledge and experience permissions in particular

  • Excellent project management skills

  • Fluent in both written and spoken English

  • Database expertise—input, reporting, tracking & auditing

  • Advanced computer skills including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and general office equipment as dictated by each position

  • Undergraduate Degree or requisite experience, including combination of education, professional training, and experience

  • Strong language, grammar, and communication skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to manage/delegate multiple tasks

  • Strong interpersonal and business correspondence skills

  • Creative, ideas person who can suggest new ways of working

  • Demonstratable problem solving ability
