As an SE II, you'll play an integral part in the sales cycle by defining solutions to meet our customers' requirements. You will be both the customer's trusted advisor and technical expert. Collaborating with sales partners, you will facilitate product adoption and account growth with a winning mindset for customers and Akamai.
As a Solutions Engineer II, you will be responsible for:
Creating sales opportunities by managing the pre-sales technical process and demonstrating Akamai's technology to customers.
Understanding customer's technical challenges and designing technical solutions that meet the customer's business needs.
Managing the technical proposal process and ensuring all technical information and recommendations addressing customer requirements are accurate.
Leading sales activities such as Technical Demos, Proofs of Concepts (POCs) and Value Confirmations.
Staying on the cutting edge by continuously learning about new technologies and customer solutions
Elevating your thought leadership through attaining subject matter expertise in the areas of your interest
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
Have 3-5 years of relevant experience and/or an equivalent technical education in an information systems, or computer engineering field
Have a background in a customer-facing technical solutions pre-sales or post-sales role.
Demonstrate an understanding of the internet architecture (traffic flows from end users to application servers, including CDN rationale and edge computing).
Have experience working in cybersecurity (application security, bot mitigation and fraud prevention, zero trust architectures, and microsegmentation.)
Demonstrate deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and operations (AWS, GCP, Azure) and multi cloud & distributed cloud concepts.
Be able to rapidly learn and master emerging technologies and evolving Akamai product offerings.
Have presentation and communication skills, able to tailor technical topics to diverse audiences (technical and non-technical stakeholders).
Work as a team with problem-solving, and prioritization skills in a quick-paced enterprise environment.
