Responsibilities:

  • Agile Engineering Best Practices: Collaborate within agile teams using portfolio management tools to create and track performance engineering stories. Develop a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and apply agile engineering practices in planning, requirements analysis, and performance test engineering.

  • Business Partnership & Consulting: Respond to stakeholder requests with accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism. Build a solid understanding of internal and external customer needs and begin developing consulting skills to help stakeholders navigate performance test engineering challenges. Gain insight into organizational processes, objectives, and challenges to assess their impact on business outcomes.

  • Technology Requirement Analysis: Work with project stakeholders to understand and derive Performance test requirements and SLAs. Design workload mix and formulate a comprehensive performance test engineering strategy and plan.

  • Performance Script Development/Programming: Develop, debug, and maintain performance engineering scripts for web applications, Oracle ERP (on-prem and cloud), TELNET handheld devices, APIs, and middleware systems using industry-standard tools like LoadRunner, JMeter, K6 etc. and by developing custom code in C/ Java / Java script / Python. Set up performance test environment and manage test data creation.

  • Performance and Observability Engineering & Quality control

  • Execute various types of performance tests—including Load, Stress, Endurance, Batch, and API tests—across multiple technologies within WWT.

  • Create, configure, and maintain dashboards in Grafana Cloud and Splunk to visualize performance outcomes.

  • Configure and instrument Application Performance Monitoring tool to track and analyze key performance metrics.

  • Analyze observability data to detect and identify performance bottlenecks and support resolution and optimization efforts.

  • Technical Communication/Presentation: Analyze performance engineering results, create detailed PE reports and Grafana dashboards to showcase the outcomes and track application performance over time. Present findings to project stakeholders and leadership, translating complex data into actionable insights tailored to the audience.

  • Emerging Technology Trends and Practices - Research emerging technologies and best practices in performance engineering. Share actionable insights with key stakeholders to support strategic decision-making and innovation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 5–8 years of IT experience with a strong focus on Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Performance Engineering, Observability and DevOps .

  • Solid experience building, configuring, and maintaining custom dashboards and alerts using Grafana and Splunk .

  • Strong hands-on experience driving end-to-end observability and performance reliability for Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift platforms, including ingress, Istio service mesh , and full-stack telemetry across metrics, logs, traces, and events .

  • In-depth hands-on experience with at least one Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tool such as Dynatrace, Grafana APM, AppDynamics, Datadog, New Relic , or similar.

  • Proven ability to identify performance bottlenecks, troubleshoot complex issues, and lead optimization efforts across distributed systems.

  • Experience with Prometheus and Grafana Mimir is a plus.

  • Hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting performance test engineering scripts using tools such as k6, LoadRunner, JMeter , or similar.

  • Experience with Performance Engineering of web applications, Oracle ERP (on-premises and cloud), middleware systems and APIs. Experience with TELNET handheld devices and mobile performance test engineering is a plus.

  • Expertise in gathering and deriving non-functional requirements (NFRs) and defining performance and reliability engineering strategies .

  • Skilled in setting up performance test environments, creating test data, and executing load, stress and endurance tests .

  • Strong expertise in analyzing test results and producing clear, actionable performance and reliability reports .

  • Experience with one or more programming languages including Java, JavaScript, Python, and C .

  • Solid knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and proficiency with data analysis tools such as Toad or SQL Developer .

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Demonstrates emotional resilience in the face of ambiguity, change, pushback, and failure; exhibits servant leadership, self-awareness, humility, and a strong commitment to continuous learning.
