What you will be doing:
The Business Development Specialist (“BDS”) role is ultimately responsible for the growth and impact of partner-influenced revenue on our public cloud business. Through advocacy, influence, and alignment activities, the BDS orchestrates our sell-through strategy within a given segment or territory. Their primary customers are the company’s Sales and Customer Solutions Architect teams - inclusive of sellers and sales leadership. Secondary customers are partner leadership and pre-sales leadership.
There are 3 key measures within the BDS management process in region:
Google Opportunity cases created in Salesforce based on engagements
Google Opportunity Deal Registrations created in Google’s Partner Network Hub based on engagements
Specifically defined metrics on Sales, Customer Solution Architect, and Google engagements
Responsibilities:
Accountable for establishing and nurturing key regional relationships in the company’s Sales, sales leadership, partner leadership and pre-sales leadership within the Google partnership
Responsible for “selling” our company’s go-to partner based upon our solution pillar focus and differentiated capabilities to influence the flow of leads
Responsible for the regional execution of gaining mindshare for Google with Softchoice internally
Evangelizing the art of the possible by “Sprinkling a little Google” into our Softchoice customer accounts
Developing and distributing regional win wires
Focal point for all inbound & outbound Google/our company communications
Organize and facilitate regional business reviews
Responsible for field marketing organizing and oversight within regions (such as our company’s & Google events, summits, partner meetings, etc.)
Other shared responsibilities include:
Develop relationships and influence within our company’s sales leaders RVPs and managers within region
Contribute voice of the partnership to influence our GTM planning and Category operating priorities
Collaborate with Google pre-sales, Solution Consultants, and TAEs to enable & influence our company’s sellers and sales leadership
Responsible for aligned Google BDR generated opportunity intake aligned to Softchoice Google Presales Team
Working with the Google BD team to identify and align the right resources
Working closely with Google Pre-sales and Solution Consultants to ensure opportunity execution
Assist in communication with aligned Google Account Manager, Sales Leader, SA, etc., on opportunity progress
Responsible for tracking aligned pipeline and opportunity FM and close dates
Requirements:
5 years of professional experience
3 years minimum of related Channel partner sales or business development experience preferably within the technology/channel sector Demonstrable experience in solution sales and/ or business development roles with consistent year-over-year performance to plan. Preference given to sales management experience.
Experience fostering relationships with senior executives
Strong executive presence, effective communication skills (all levels)
Technical proficiency with a conceptual understanding of Cloud computing
Standard Google certifications are preferred, but not required (certification obtainment will be required in first 6 months of the role)
Ability to work North American Pacific Standard Time hours
