Ford Motor Company UX Prototyper (Lead Software Engineer) in China
Ford Motor Company is seeking a UX Prototyper with strong software engineering expertise to help bring future mobility experiences to life through functional, code-based prototypes. This role bridges the gap between design and technology, requiring a highly technical individual with strong design sensibility.
This role sits within the design organization but operates with an engineering-first mindset, developing interactive software prototypes that enable teams to evaluate concepts, validate user experiences, and inform product direction.
Design and develop interactive, code-based prototypes to explore user experience concepts
Build functional applications that simulate real product behaviors and workflows
Implement front-end software solutions using modern development frameworks and tools
Rapidly iterate prototypes based on feedback from design, engineering, and product teams
Prototype emerging interaction models and intelligent experiences
Explore new technologies, including AI-enabled interfaces and multimodal interactions
Contribute to experimentation efforts supporting future vehicle and digital ecosystem experiences
Present prototypes and technical concepts to cross-functional stakeholders
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
3+ years of professional experience in software engineering, including experience building interactive applications or functional software prototypes
Experience developing interactive front-end applications using modern frameworks (e.g., React or equivalent)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience integrating AI or LLM capabilities into applications
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Experience with visualization, animation, or real-time interaction technologies
Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, early-stage problem spaces
