Oracle Principal Advanced Services Engineer, Oracle Database in China

Detailed Description

As a Principal Advanced Services Engineer - Oracle Database, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical support and advanced services to strategic customers. This role requires strong Oracle DBA expertise, excellent customer-facing skills, and the ability to work closely with customers, Sales, and Technical Account Managers to ensure service excellence and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have solid hands-on experience with Oracle Database administration across mission-critical environments, including Oracle Database 11g and 19c, Exadata, and Multitenant architecture. Korean and English communication capability is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver advanced support and proactive services for Oracle database environments to strategic customers.

  • Communicate effectively with customers on-site and remotely, follow up on service requests, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

  • Manage and resolve escalated and critical technical issues related to Oracle databases and associated infrastructure.

  • Provide preventive maintenance, health checks, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and operational best practice guidance.

  • Support Oracle database lifecycle activities, including installation, patching, upgrade, migration, backup and recovery, and high availability/disaster recovery-related tasks.

  • Provide technical support for Oracle Exadata environments and Oracle Multitenant architecture in enterprise production systems.

  • Work closely with Sales and Technical Account Managers to support key customer accounts and strategic initiatives.

  • Contribute to operational excellence by following established processes and driving continuous improvement.

  • Share technical knowledge and best practices with team members through regular knowledge-sharing sessions and technical mentoring.

Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Strong hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA in enterprise environments.

  • Strong knowledge and practical experience with Oracle Database 11g and 19c .

  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Exadata administration, support, and troubleshooting.

  • Good understanding and practical experience with Oracle Multitenant architecture .

  • Solid experience in database upgrade, migration, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and high availability solutions.

  • Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, and related Oracle database technologies will be an advantage.

  • Good understanding of operating systems and hardware platforms, especially Linux ; knowledge of IBM AIX, HP-UX, and Sun Solaris is a plus.

  • Strong customer service mindset with good project coordination and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication and documentation skills.

  • Fluency in Korean and good English communication skills (spoken and written) are required.

  • Manufacturing industry experience is a plus.

  • OCM certification is highly desirable.

  • Willingness to travel to customer sites across the country, up to 50% of the time.
