Avania Senior Clinical Data Manager in Canada

Avania are hiring - Senior Clinical Data Manager – Canada (Remote)

About the role

As a Senior Clinical Data Manager at Avania, you will support the day-to-day clinical data management activities for clinical trials, with a strong focus on studies utilizing Medidata Rave. In the key role of Senior Clinical Data Manager, you'll be responsible for ongoing data review and cleaning, user account support, and ensuring the team and sponsors can readily access the information they need in the system. You will also join sponsor calls as the data management point of contact, providing clear updates on data status and study progress and helping align expectations throughout the trial. This position is designed for someone who can onboard quickly, bring strong organizational skills, and communicate confidently with both internal teams and clients. The role is remote within Canada and offers the opportunity to contribute to complex global clinical trials with a focus on Medidata Rave based projects.

What you'll be doing

  • Perform clinical data review and cleaning in Medidata Rave, ensuring data quality and consistency throughout the study lifecycle.

  • Support user and access administration activities (e.g., setting up new user accounts) and confidently navigate Rave to locate study information and reports as needed.

  • Monitor data quality trends and follow up on outstanding items in collaboration with cross-functional study team members.

  • Manage multiple priorities across one or more Rave studies, onboarding quickly to support complex global studies as needed.

  • Participate in sponsor/client calls as the data management point of contact, providing clear updates on data cleaning status, risks, and next steps.

Candidates who offer a combination of the skills, knowledge and experience listed below are encouraged to apply to our Senior Clinical Data Manager role . With our continued growth we are hiring talent to join us on our journey and grow with us.

What we're looking for

  • Several years of experience in clinical data management, with strong hands-on experience using Medidata Rave as an end user (data review and cleaning, navigating the system, and managing user access as needed).

  • Ability to represent Data Management on sponsor/client calls, providing clear updates on study status and data quality (strong communication skills are essential).

  • Solid understanding of clinical trials and clinical data flow, with the ability to interpret study requirements and ensure consistent execution of data management activities.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage priorities across one primary study (e.g., onboarding quickly to an ongoing Rave study) and potentially additional Rave studies as needed.

  • Collaborative mindset, working effectively with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., clinical operations, biostatistics, and project management) to support timelines and high-quality deliverables.

  • Comfortable in a remote role based anywhere in Canada, with the ability to work effectively with distributed teams and stakeholders.

What you'll need

  • Experience in clinical data management, with strong hands-on Medidata Rave experience as an end user (focused on data review, query management, and data cleaning rather than study build/programming).

  • Solid understanding of clinical trials and how data management supports study execution and reporting.

  • Ability to navigate Medidata Rave confidently (e.g., locating study information, supporting day-to-day use, and setting up/maintaining user access as needed).

  • Strong attention to detail and a quality mindset when reviewing data and driving discrepancies to resolution.

  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities across studies and timelines, with strong organizational and follow-up skills.

  • Clear, professional communication skills, with the ability to represent Data Management on sponsor calls and provide accurate status updates on data cleaning progress.

  • Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g., study teams, project management, and the wider Rave/EDC support group).

  • Able to work remotely from anywhere in Canada, with flexibility to support client-facing meetings as required.

What we offer

We offer a dynamic and supportive work environment within a growing Clinical Data Management team, contributing to impactful clinical research. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners and client stakeholders, taking an active role in data review and cleaning activities and providing clear updates on study progress. This position is offered as a remote role within Canada to help you work effectively while staying connected to the team. We provide a clear and structured interview process and the opportunity for long-term growth as you support current and future Medidata Rave studies.

We look forward to receiving your application!
