Amentum Fuel System Operator in Bahamas, The
Amentum is seeking a Fuel System Operator to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission on Andros Island, Bahamas . AUTEC is a Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) and the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport's largest single team project, providing both deep and shallow water test and training environments. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Essential Responsibilities:
Responsible for monitoring maintenance/troubleshooting of Automatic Tank Gauges (ATG) located at all sites and the Fuels Manager Unit at Site 1.
Responsible for FUEL Key program (government and private), prepares, and submits reports/billing data to both Contractor and Government.
Places fuel orders through the DLA Enterprise System and ensures all fuel off-loads are accomplished in a safe and efficient manner.
Inspects and reports any discrepancies in the bulk fuel system and supervises any repairs to the system.
Responsible for execution of prevailing NUWC advanced Technical Instruction, Fuel Farm Maintenance and Operations, including all reports.
Performs daily preventative maintenance checks and any subsequent corrective maintenance on the AUTEC Fuel system throughout the week and month.
Respond and work on call when necessary.
Provide Quality Assurance over all outgoing reports.
Deliver fuel to a remote radar site via a 5000-gallon tanker.
Performs additional duties as security escort as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school graduate or equivalent.
BSM-W Fuel Manage Defense (FMD) certification required.
FMD course must be scheduled within 6 months from date of hire.
3 years hands-on experience with Department of Defense systems, including but not limited to operations and maintenance and/or inspections of liquid plant systems (valves, piping, tanks, and infrastructure) preferred. Note any applicable experience relating to other similar systems.
Computer literate - Windows computer applications, including but not limited to MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
Must be physically able to climb stairs & ladders or elevated fuel tanks, climb in and around fuel piping and access confined spaces for inspection purposes.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions for an industrial environment.
Valid driver's license, including fuel CDL, and passport will be required.
Must be able to reside in remote location with limited medical facilities.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Already has completed BSM-W Fuel Manage Defense (FMD) certification required.
5 years hands-on experience with Department of Defense systems, including but not limited to operations and maintenance and/or inspections of liquid plant systems (valves, piping, tanks, and infrastructure).
