Solstice Advanced Materials Logistics Analyst (m/f/d) in United Arab Emirates
Role Overview
Solstice Advanced Materials is seeking a Logistics Analyst to support logistics operations across the META region (Middle East, Türkiye, Africa), with a strong focus on supporting the RAS and ESM businesses.
This role involves day-to-day dangerous goods logistics execution across air, ocean, road, and intermodal movements, working closely with Solstice’s global freight forwarders, customs brokers, governmental agencies, ISO tank providers, warehouse operators, and internal stakeholders. The position also supports movements into and out of India, while collaborating with colleagues across the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
The role is operational, analytical, and compliance-focused, ideal for someone looking to build strong regional logistics expertise in a regulated, asset-heavy environment.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Regional Logistics Operations
Act as a key logistics contact for the META region, supporting Customer Care, Commercial, Finance, Supply Chain Planning, and external logistics partners.
Support daily and near-term shipment execution across ocean, road, and intermodal transport modes.
Work closely with the global freight forwarder to ensure smooth execution of shipments across META and India trade lanes.
Coordinate with global colleagues to support cross-regional movements and issue resolution.
Ocean Freight & Forwarder Support
Ensure adherence to global ocean freight contracts, including rates, free time, and agreed service levels.
Monitor shipment progress, port dwell times, and exceptions; escalate issues where required.
Assist with basic analysis of service failures, delays, or cost deviations linked to logistics execution.
ISO Tanks, Warehousing & Inland Transport
Support operational management of ISO tanks, including coordination with asset providers and internal stakeholders.
Assist with day-to-day interaction with warehouse providers and over-the-road transport partners.
Monitor vendor performance and support issue resolution related to safety, service, or cost.
Trade Compliance & Regulatory Support
Facilitate compliant import and export movements across the META region and India.
Work with Trade Compliance colleagues to ensure logistics execution aligns with customs requirements, free zone procedures, and regional regulations.
Support the compliant movement of hazardous materials, including Class 2.1 (flammable gases) and Class 2.2 (non-flammable, non-toxic gases).
Escalate potential compliance risks or deviations to the appropriate internal teams.
Performance, Cost & Process Support
Assist in tracking logistics KPIs and operational metrics provided by freight forwarders and service providers.
Investigate logistics-related service issues impacting customer commitments.
Assist with vendor invoice checks and basic cost validation.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of SOPs for regional logistics activities.
Support continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives within the region.
Qualifications
Experience & Qualifications
Experience
5 years’ experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation roles within a freight forwarder, manufacturer or retail operation.
Exposure to ocean freight and road transportation operations.
Experience working with freight forwarders or logistics service providers.
Some exposure to trade compliance, customs processes, or regulated shipments preferred.
Experience with ISO tanks, bulk chemicals, or gases is an advantage but not required.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline.
Technical Skills
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is an advantage.
Exposure to reporting or BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is beneficial but not essential.
