Essentia Health RN - Acute Care Supervisor in Virginia, Minnesota
Job Description:
The acute care supervisor will perform responsibilities under the direction of accountable nurse leadership. Assess, direct, manage and evaluate the delivery of nursing care and patient support services to achieve a specified standard of care and quality metrics for a designated patient population. Ensures streamlined patient care delivery systems, which promote smooth patient transitions across the continuum. Responsible for effective fiscal and operational management and maintains optimum patient care unit systems, including staffing, scheduling, resource allocation, and communication. This position collaborates in the development and achievement of unit goals and performance improvement activities. Works with the accountable manager to ensure staff orientation, education, development and evaluations are completed.
Education Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage day-to-day nursing operations ensuring appropriate staffing levels, delegating tasks, and providing guidance to maintain high-quality patient care
Ensure that the unit adheres to healthcare regulations, hospital policies, and accreditation standards, while promoting best practices for patient safety and care quality
Overseeing and managing performance and evaluation of registered nurses and patient care support staff
Act as a liaison between nursing staff, physicians, patients and families, ensuring clear communication and collaboration to optimize patient outcomes
This position will work the following:
80 hours per pay period
Weekends as needed
Day Shift (Evenings as needed)
Licensure/Certification Qualifications:
Current nursing licensure in state(s) of employment
Basic cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 1 month
Minimum of 2 years previous RN experience
BSN or BAN from an accredited school or college of nursing within 3 years of hire.
