Job Title: General Production Worker – Entry-Level Fabricator
Job Description
This entry-level fabrication role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting a high-visibility sign project. You will assist with TIG welding, fabrication, and assembly tasks while learning from experienced team members in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for someone with basic welding experience who is eager to develop their skills, work safely, and contribute to a collaborative production team.
Responsibilities
Assist with TIG welding tasks under the guidance and supervision of experienced fabricators.
Support the fabrication and assembly of metal components for sign projects.
Use hand and power tools, including grinders, drills, saws, and clamps, to cut, shape, and finish materials.
Read and follow basic shop drawings and blueprints to complete fabrication tasks accurately.
Measure and verify dimensions using tape measures, calipers, and squares to ensure quality and consistency.
Follow all shop safety practices, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift.
Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and project deadlines.
Perform general production and assembly duties as assigned to support overall workflow.
Handle physical tasks that require manual dexterity, such as lifting, positioning, and securing materials.
Essential Skills
Basic welding experience, with TIG welding strongly preferred.
Ability to perform entry-level TIG welding tasks safely and accurately under supervision.
Experience or comfort using hand and power tools such as grinders, drills, saws, and clamps.
Ability to read and follow basic shop drawings and blueprints.
Knowledge of fundamental shop safety practices and proper PPE use.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate measurements and quality workmanship.
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a production team.
Physical dexterity and stamina to perform manual labor in a manufacturing setting.
Ability to pass a screening check.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Interest in fabrication and a strong desire to learn and develop new skills.
Experience with MIG welding in addition to TIG welding is a plus.
Familiarity with metal cutting and finishing tools.
Comfort working with general production, assembly, and fabrication processes.
Ability to interpret and apply information from blueprints and shop drawings with minimal guidance over time.
Demonstrated safety awareness in previous work or training environments.

Work Environment
You will work in a busy manufacturing facility that is not climate controlled, so temperatures may vary with the seasons. The standard schedule runs Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to approximately 4:00–5:00 PM, with overtime required and described as non-negotiable. The workday includes two 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute lunch period. You will regularly use TIG welding equipment, hand tools (such as grinders, drills, saws, and clamps), measuring tools (including tape measures, calipers, and squares), and metal cutting and finishing tools. The environment emphasizes safe shop practices, consistent use of PPE, and maintaining an orderly workspace while performing physically active production and fabrication tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
