Job Title: Electromechanical Assembler Job Description
We are seeking an Electromechanical Assembler to join our team, supporting the production of advanced electromechanical systems used by the U.S. Navy. This role involves assembling interface devices, cable harnesses, circuit boards, and multi-rack electronic systems with precision and accuracy. You will work from schematics, blueprints, and detailed work instructions to build, wire, and test components that meet strict quality and performance standards. Candidates with experience in cable assembly, crimping, stripping, and through-hole or surface-mount soldering are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
Assemble electromechanical components, interface devices, and multi-rack systems (3 racks per system).
Build cable harnesses, including stripping, crimping, terminating, and routing wires.
Perform minimal soldering (through-hole and SMT); additional soldering experience is a plus.
Assemble electronic boxes/enclosures and integrate wiring, connectors, and instrumentation.
Follow detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and work instructions with high accuracy.
Support high-power testing procedures and system verification.
Operate DIT-MCO (computer-based) automated test equipment for continuity and harness testing.
Inspect assemblies to IPC-A-610 standards to ensure workmanship quality.
Use precision tools such as calipers, multimeters, and ohmmeters to verify measurements and continuity.
Interpret PCB layouts, drawings, and technical documentation.
Record build steps, test results, and any discrepancies according to company procedures.
Essential Skills
Experience assembling electromechanical systems, cable harnesses, or electronic components.
Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, crimpers, strippers, and measurement devices.
Basic electrical knowledge, including continuity checks and wiring standards.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with DIT-MCO or similar automated test systems.
Through-hole and surface-mount soldering experience.
Familiarity with electronic instrumentation and multi-rack system integration.
Prior experience supporting defense, aerospace, or high-reliability manufacturing environments.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr.
