We are seeking an experienced Planning Manager to oversee the production planning process for all SKUs produced at our Villawood manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be adept at balancing key performance metrics such as cycle time interval (CTI), asset utilisation (AU), and inventory levels to deliver a feasible and efficient production plan. This role requires a proactive approach to the timely delivery of new product developments (NPDs) and the cost-effective management of discontinued SKUs (D-SKUs). The Planning Manager will play a pivotal role in cross-functional collaboration, particularly with the marketing, packaging, and Customer Service and Logistics (CS&L) departments, as well as the broader Villawood team. Additionally, this position entails leadership and oversight of the Warehouse team, ensuring both people and processes align with company standards.

  • Scheduling, sequencing and campaigning of liquid making, bottle making and finishing line activities in line with forecast demands

  • Create and maintain all master data in SAP for new SKUs, including production versions, rate routings, and cost collectors as part of the GTM process.

  • Develop and execute production and material plans for all NPDs, ensuring support for scheduled transition times (STT).

  • Formulate strategies to minimise obsolete and slow-moving inventory (OSMI) for all D-SKUs.

  • Generate and adjust a capacity-constrained production plan for all lines, incorporating inventory, sequencing, AU, CTI, and other critical factors to meet customer expectations.

  • Respond to unplanned events, such as overselling or equipment breakdowns, with appropriate plan modifications.

  • Timely review of daily execution comments (DECs) with constructive feedback.

  • Manage the plant CTI model, conducting quarterly reviews to ensure cost-optimised production planning.

  • Engage closely with CS&L to address inventory and customer service issues, including participation in the weekly WIRM and daily handshake meetings.

  • Communicate potential customer service impact to key internal stakeholders.

  • Prepare and submit monthly reports, including OSMI forecasts, case cuts, and use-by-date (UBD) analysis.

  • Lead daily meetings, report on stock availability, and advise on production line shifts. Conduct weekly reviews of the forward schedule with the team.

  • Organise and drive the weekly SSCAMP meeting, ensuring inclusion of preventive maintenance (PM) activities and other events in the production plan.

  • Collaborate with key suppliers and Material Coordinators to assess forecasts and supply situations.

  • Oversee Warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards for receipts, storage, and dispatch processes.

  • Participate in additional projects as required.

  • Ensure timely receipt of certificate analysis data before material usage.

  • Coordinate with the packaging department to manage non-compliant materials and prevent plant downtime by maintaining appropriate reorder quantities.

  • Represent the plant at monthly marketing operations meetings, ensuring SKU count maintenance, plant alignment for SKU/size type work, and that new suggestions are within plant capacity and cost considerations. Required

  • 5 years' experience in a Planning role within a manufacturing plant.

  • Proficient in SAP and other planning software.

  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams.

  • Demonstrated experience in process optimisation by application of software/programming solutions.

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, business administration, or a related field.
