Job Description
The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth patient visit by accompanying the dermatologist in the room and fostering a friendly and efficient environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This position requires a blend of patient care, customer service, and triage skills in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
Responsibilities
Room patients and document all vital information.
Scribe information for the dermatologist.
Provide post-operative care to patients.
Draw blood and remove sutures.
Clean and stock exam rooms.
Schedule patient appointments.
Essential Skills
6 months to 1 year of experience in Surgical, Dermatology, or Urgent Care.
Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors.
Capability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Non-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete a certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expiration.
Work Environment
The work environment is fast-paced, handling approximately 65 patients per day. Working hours are Monday through Friday from 6:45 AM to 3:30 PM. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vienna, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
