PeaceHealth is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer - Echocardiology for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $49.42 – $74.18. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting.
Job Summary
Responsible for performing diagnostic and special procedures ultrasonography in accordance with established policies and procedures. Must use independent judgment in applying knowledge of clinical cardiology, acoustic imaging technology, and problem-solving skills to optimize the echocardiographic evaluation, tailoring and expanding the exam to ensure comprehensiveness and diagnostic accuracy.
Details of the position:
Performs prescribed ultrasound procedures using a variety of equipment to get preliminary echocardiographic measurements. Must be competent at the performance of adult echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography and contrast studies.
Must follow department imaging protocols, appropriately acquire all echocardiographic measurements per protocol, create digital preliminary reports for the interpreting physician, and verbally communicate preliminary findings to the interpreting physician when necessary.
Prepare, supply and equip ultrasound rooms to meet specific cardiologist and physician requirements for procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What you bring:
Accredited Program Required: Diagnostic Ultrasound and
Preferred: CAAHEP accredited with emphasis and
Internship Preferred: Cardiac Minimum six months full-time
1 year Preferred: Experience as cardiac sonographer
Required: National Cardiac Sonography Registration or
Required: ARDMS Peds Echocardiology (Washington Requirement: May be considered if working with the specified patient care population and as approved by department leadership) or
Required: ARDMS Adult Echocardiology (Washington Requirement: May be considered if working with the specified patient care population and as approved by department leadership) or
Required: Upon Hire Basic Life Support and
Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs. (Required)
Computer experience (Required)
Good interpersonal, organizational and decision-making skills (Required)
Ability to take initiative and work independently (Required)
Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. (Required)

Whatcom:
- New Graduates have one year to obtain registration through ARDMS, must be ARDMS eligible upon date of hire.
Lower NWN:
- Cardiac Sonographers hired into positions with St. Joseph Medical Center also serve satellite locations within the lower Northwest Network which currently includes: Bellingham, Lynden, Sedro Woolley, Anacortes and Friday Harbor. Successful candidates will be expected to meet travel assignments within these areas.
