Job Description
Title: Summer ESY Speech Therapist/Pathologist
Position: This is a six week position, Monday - Friday from July 6th - August 14, 2026
Description: This is a professional position responsible for assessing, diagnosing, treating and helping to prevent speech, language, cognitive communication, voice swallowing, fluency and other related disorders.
Qualifications:
Hold valid New York State certification in Speech and Language Disabilities and NYS License as a Speech Language Pathologist
Knowledge of the current principles and practices of Speech Language Pathology
Ability to work with a culturally diverse population of students and families
Ability to create a safe and culturally inviting environment
Effective communication and problem solving skills
Ability to work collaboratively in an educational setting with all stakeholders
Responsibilities: Shall include but are not limited to the following:
Must be able to work across all settings, Pre-Kindergarten to High School serving students with a range of disabilities including those involving language,
Provide intervention services to support students and reduce academic barriers
Utilize appropriate evaluation tools to assess students\' abilities as they relate to communication
Gather and interpret data to inform instructional practices
Complete activities such as Individualized Education Program development, Medicaid billing, report writing and treatment plan/therapy log development
Engage with students and families from culturally diverse backgrounds
Work collaboratively with District and Building Level leadership and staff
Other duties as assigned by the Building Principal, Director of Elementary or Secondary Special Education or district office administration
