Job Title: QC Analytical Chemist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated QC Analytical Chemist to join our dynamic team. This role involves testing raw materials before they are used in manufacturing processes, ensuring compliance with USP and EP standards. You will conduct wet chemistry tests such as pH, IR, moisture, and identification tests, while also working on documentation. As you grow in this position, you will gain experience with HPLC and GC methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality control testing on incoming raw materials in compliance with USP and EP standards.

  • Conduct wet chemistry tests including pH, IR, moisture, and identification tests.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of all testing procedures and results.

  • Collaborate with the team to develop and refine testing protocols.

  • Cross-train with the Finished Product team to perform particle size testing and dissolution studies.

  • Engage in side tasks to support laboratory operations and maintain productivity.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related life science field.

  • Experience in a GMP environment, with 0-3 years preferred.

  • Competency in HPLC and GC techniques is advantageous.

  • Strong foundation in quality control, titration, and method validation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Undergraduate research experience or summer internship experience is highly valued.

  • Self-driven with the ability to take initiative and find work independently.

  • Experience with method transfer and development in a laboratory setting.

Work Environment

You will work primarily in a quality control laboratory setting as part of the Raw Material team, consisting of four chemists. The lab environment is modern, with shared workspaces and laptops provided for each chemist. The team collaborates closely with the Finished Product and Analytical Development teams, which consist of approximately five chemists each. This role will initially involve 90% lab work, with potential to transition to 70% lab work after 2-3 years. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Verona, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
