Job Title: Maintenance Technician (2nd & 3rd Shift)
Job Description
The Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs production and packaging equipment to keep the facility running safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. Working closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and production teams, this role ensures all machinery, tools, and systems operate reliably and in line with operational and food safety standards across 2nd and 3rd shifts.
Responsibilities
Perform routine preventive maintenance on all machinery and equipment according to established schedules to prevent breakdowns and ensure smooth operation.
Inspect machines regularly for signs of wear, inefficiency, or potential failure, and perform necessary adjustments, lubrication, and component replacements.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on production and packaging equipment during operation.
Complete repairs and part replacements promptly to minimize production downtime and maintain output targets.
Assist with the installation of new machinery, equipment, and systems under the guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor.
Support equipment upgrades and process improvements in collaboration with the Maintenance Supervisor and engineering team to increase efficiency and reliability.
Ensure all maintenance work complies with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and applicable food safety standards.
Participate in safety and food safety training programs and consistently apply best practices in equipment maintenance to maintain a safe work environment.
Document all repair and maintenance activities thoroughly to support compliance with GFSI and other food safety standards.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks, inspections, repairs, and parts replacements in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Report equipment performance issues, recurring failures, and operational inefficiencies to the Maintenance Supervisor in a timely manner.
Communicate effectively with fellow maintenance technicians and production staff regarding equipment status, planned work, and potential issues.
Collaborate closely with maintenance, production, and quality teams to respond quickly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot equipment performance problems.
Participate in cross-functional and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize equipment operation, improve reliability, and reduce downtime.
Essential Skills
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food production.
Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
Hands-on experience operating and maintaining production equipment such as conveyors, ovens, mixers, and packaging machines.
Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and use of CMMS software.
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and food safety regulations, including frameworks such as GFSI and HACCP.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.
Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors, peers, and production staff regarding equipment status and maintenance needs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Technical certification or associate degree in a related field such as industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical technology is preferred.
Experience working within a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment.
Experience in food manufacturing or similar highly regulated production settings.
Experience contributing to continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment reliability and process efficiency.

Work Environment
This role operates within a state-of-the-art food manufacturing facility focused on high-quality production and strict adherence to food safety standards. You will work around automated production lines, including conveyors, ovens, mixers, and packaging machinery, and regularly use tools and systems related to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment. Work is performed on 2nd and 3rd shifts, with typical schedules of 2:00 PM–11:30 PM or 11:00 PM–7:30 AM, and start and end times may vary by approximately two hours based on operational needs. The environment is fast-paced and production-driven, with a strong emphasis on GMP, OSHA compliance, and documentation within a CMMS. Appropriate attire and personal protective equipment are required in production areas to meet safety and food safety requirements.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $72800.00/yr.
