Overview
The USU Extension Summer Intern will support community-based programming and outreach efforts within the Extension office. This position provides hands-on experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs that improve the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities. Interns will work closely with Extension faculty and staff to assist with youth and adult programming and community events.
Responsibilities
Assist in planning and delivering Extension programs, including youth and adult workshops.
Support implementation of community-based initiatives (e.g., nutrition education, wellness programs, youth development activities).
Help prepare materials, supplies, and set up/clean up for classes and events.
Engage with community members in a professional and welcoming manner.
Assist with outreach efforts, including social media, flyers, and community promotion.
Represent USU Extension in a positive and professional manner at all times.
Qualifications
High School Diploma required; some college experience is preferred.
Ability to work independently and serve as a positive role model.
Willingness to have a flexible working schedule.
Must have access to reliable transportation to and from work sites.

This position requires moderate physical effort. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position, including lifting up to 25 pounds, walking and standing. Employees must adhere to safety precautions and may be required to use protective equipment.
