Job Description Summary

The Lead Regulatory and Compliance Engineer is responsible for performing the tasks necessary to sustain, maintain, and continuously improve the Compliance and Safety Management System, thereby ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, promoting safety, and supporting efficient operations within the aviation business. This role plays a critical part in the ongoing updating and enhancement of the compliance system, strengthening a culture of safety and compliance, and supporting the organization in achieving its operational objectives.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Continuously update and improve documentationrelated to the organization’sCompliance and Safety Management System (documents, policies, and procedures) to ensure alignment withaviation industry standards, applicableregulatory requirements(e.g.,FAA, EASA, UK CAA, CAAC), and global corporate requirements and guidelines.

  • Coordinate and operate the Safety Management System (SMS), including ongoing oversight and day-to-day operational support.

  • Ensure effective integrationof the compliance and safety system into business processes and operational execution.

  • Conduct regular audits and assessmentsto verify compliance and safety performance and to identify areas for improvement.

  • Maintain and communicate required documentation and reportsfor internal stakeholders andregulatory authorities.

  • Promote a strong safety and compliance culture, ensuring thatflight safetyremains a primary priority in operational activities and decision-making.

  • Collaborate cross-functionallyto proactively identify hazards and mitigate risks, ensuring safe practices are embedded in the compliance system.

  • Monitor safety and compliance performance metricsagainst defined targets and provide regular performance reporting.

  • Define, communicate, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)to address nonconformities and improve system effectiveness.

  • Support resolution of compliance- and product safety related issues, including performing required analyses/investigations and documenting and communicating outcomes.

  • Support internal audits end-to-end(planning, execution, documentation, communication of results, definition of corrective actions, and verification of effectiveness).

  • Support authority, customer, supplier and HQ audits, including preparation and on-site/remote execution activities as required.

  • Maintain current knowledgeof all relevant aviation regulations and standards to ensure continued organizational compliance.

  • Deliver training and guidanceto employees on the safety and compliance management system.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering from an accredited university or college.

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Quality role.

  • Advantage of knowledge of general aviation legislation (FAA/EASA Part 145) and quality systems (ISO9001/AS9100)

  • Knowledge of Root Cause Corrective Action techniques, Human Factors effect.

  • Holds a recognized Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor certification.

  • Willingness and ability to travel abroad, as necessary.

  • Fluency both in English and Hungarian.
