Supervise & coordinate the day-to-day activities of a team of warehouse employees who receive, handle, store, record and dispatch goods in the distribution center.
Monitor warehouse activities to ensure that goods are stored correctly and safely and warehouse space is used effectively.
Monitor the effectiveness of operating procedures, space utilization, and protection of equipment and make recommendations for improvements.
Prioritize and assign tasks to ensure that the team’s resources are used effectively and that work schedules and targets are met.
Supervise staff to ensure that all warehouse activities, and all machines and equipment are operated, safely.
Coach, train and motivate warehouse employees in the organization’s operating procedures and standards.
Demonstrate readiness to make decisions, take initiative and originate actions.
Responsible for creating the best possible work environment for employees.
Review all employees of the warehouse, as well as making sure the hour attendance is in place and monitored.
Facilitate meetings and participate as a member in various projects.
Manage smaller improvement projects.
Ensure compliance with regulations, laws and policies.
Make systematic and rational judgements based upon relevant information.
Job Requirements:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Critical Knowledge and Qualifications:
Deep knowledge about warehousing on Bachelor level with a degree in e.g. logistics or supply chain management
A previous position as a supervisor warehouse and proven skills in communication is mandatory
Project experience, both as a leader as well as a strong member, is an advantage
Critical Skills/technical know-how:
Fluent written and spoken Dutch and English
Good communication skills
Be able to work in an international environment with a lot of internal international contacts
Knowledge of SAP R/3 is a strong advantage
Be able to facilitate meetings and participate as a member in various projects
Critical Experience:
Previous experience (min. 3 years) as a supervisor or similar position is mandatory
Proven leadership skills and experiences
Proven communication skills are fundamental
Be able to carry out both operational tasks as well as questioning them to be able to constantly improve the way we work according to defined processes
