Cybersecurity Analyst (Mid Level) – Contract
Location: Venice, FL (Onsite preferred; hybrid may be considered)
Contract Duration: 80 days (anticipated start between 4/20–4/24)
Position Overview
We are seeking a mid level Cybersecurity Analyst to provide interim coverage while a team member is on maternity leave. This role is focused on email security operations, end user support, and incident triage, ensuring continuity of day to day security functions during this short term engagement.
The security environment is heavily centered around Cortex, making prior experience in Cortex based workflows a strong advantage. The ideal candidate can step in quickly, work independently within defined processes, and communicate effectively with end users.
Key Responsibilities
Support email security operations, including:
Unblocking approved email attachments
Releasing legitimate emails from quarantine
Triage and resolve email related security alerts and incidents, primarily within Cortex
Work directly with end users to validate requests and communicate resolutions
Track and resolve issues through a ticketing system (ServiceNow or similar)
Follow established security procedures and escalation paths; escalate higher risk items appropriately
Help maintain business continuity and reduce operational burden on the core security team

Skills and Requirements
3–5 years of experience in a cybersecurity analyst or IT security support role
Hands on experience with email security workflows, including quarantine management and attachment releases
Experience working directly with end users in a corporate environment
Familiarity with service management/ticketing systems (ServiceNow strongly preferred)
Ability to assess risk, follow defined processes, and make sound judgment calls
Strong written and verbal communication skills • Experience working in Cortex based security environments (Palo Alto Cortex XDR, XSOAR, or related tools)
• Familiarity with Abnormal Security or similar email security platforms
• Experience operating in a hybrid or onsite enterprise environment
• Prior experience covering short term or interim security engagements
