Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
This role focuses on performing comprehensive industrial maintenance for material handling facilities, with an emphasis on electrical and mechanical systems. The Maintenance Technician will handle preventative maintenance and repair of conveyors, motor controls, industrial three-phase power systems, and related equipment, serving as the primary on-site resource for breakdowns and ongoing upkeep.
Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance on facility material handling equipment, including conveyors, motor controls, PLC-controlled systems, and other electrical and mechanical equipment.
Troubleshoot and repair industrial three-phase power issues, ensuring safe and reliable operation of all electrical systems.
Diagnose and resolve electrical problems using wiring diagrams, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
Conduct mechanical and electrical maintenance on motors, conveyor systems, and associated components.
Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment at the component and system level, identifying faults and restoring operation (programming not required).
Carry out welding and mechanical repairs as needed to maintain and restore equipment functionality.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, assess the issue, and perform effective repairs to minimize downtime.
Complete routine preventive maintenance tasks between facility sort windows and coordinate repair or replacement work as required.
Perform general handyman tasks around the facility, including changing lights and other basic building maintenance activities.
Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately and in a timely manner.
Travel between designated local facilities using a company-provided vehicle and manage time efficiently across multiple sites.
Collaborate with facility personnel to schedule maintenance and repair work with minimal disruption to operations.
Follow all safety procedures and best practices when working with electrical, mechanical, and welding equipment.
Essential Skills
Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience.
At least 1 year of hands-on experience with motor controls, including troubleshooting and repair.
Strong experience with industrial three-phase power systems, including the ability to troubleshoot three-phase power issues.
Experience performing preventative maintenance on industrial equipment and material handling systems.
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting on industrial equipment and systems.
Mechanical maintenance skills, including troubleshooting and repair of mechanical components.
At least 1 year of welding and mechanical troubleshooting experience.
Experience working with conveyor systems in an industrial environment.
Ability to troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment (no programming required).
Strong general maintenance and service skills in an industrial setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience supporting multiple facilities or sites as a mobile maintenance resource.
Comfort performing general handyman tasks such as changing lights and basic facility repairs.
Ability to work independently as the primary maintenance contact on site.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to travel between local facilities as needed.
Solid communication skills to coordinate with facility staff and report maintenance status.

Work Environment
Work takes place at local logistics and distribution facilities in areas such as Greensburg, Oil City, Neville, and Altoona. The role involves working around conveyor systems, material handling equipment, and industrial electrical and mechanical systems in an active warehouse and sorting environment. Typical hours are structured around four 10-hour days, or as close to that schedule as possible, aligned with facility operations. Facilities operate morning and evening sorts (approximately 2:00–8:00 a.m. and 3:00–10:00 p.m.), with preventative maintenance performed between these windows and repair or replacement work carried out as needed. Building access for maintenance is generally available between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. You will use a company-provided truck, begin paid time once you pick up the vehicle in Greensburg, and receive paid travel time to other sites from that point. The setting is industrial, with regular exposure to machinery, tools, and electrical systems, requiring adherence to appropriate safety practices and use of standard work attire and protective equipment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr.
