PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
The primary functions include operating multi-axes computer numerical control (CNC) milling or lathe machine to machine surfaces of metallic and nonmetallic work pieces under supervision of a Machinist.
*QUALIFICATIONS: *
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the Major Responsibilities, under the supervision of a machinist to include the following:
- Loads material in machine. Starts machine and observes cutting operation.
- Compares numerical data display with specifications on operations sheet under supervision of a Machinist
- Responsible for the accuracy and quality of the part.
- Authorized to stop processes to ensure quality.
- Assist Machinist in setup and troubleshooting.
- Responsible for machine turnovers to adjacent shift operators.
- Ability to understand and document requirements of Inspectin Plans.
- Works overtime as required
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Three to six months related experience and/or training desirable but not necessary.
*LANGUAGE SKILLS: *
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, routers and inspections procedures

*MATHEMATICAL SKILLS *
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations preferred but not necessary.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrates mechanical aptitude
Operates basic measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, surface plate checks and optical comparators desirable bot necessary.
