PRIMARY FUNCTIONS 

The primary functions include operating multi-axes computer numerical control (CNC) milling or lathe machine to machine surfaces of metallic and nonmetallic work pieces under supervision of a Machinist.

*QUALIFICATIONS: *

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the Major Responsibilities, under the supervision of a machinist to include the following: 

• Loads material in machine. Starts machine and observes cutting operation.
• Compares numerical data display with specifications on operations sheet under supervision of a Machinist
• Responsible for the accuracy and quality of the part. 
• Authorized to stop processes to ensure quality.
• Assist Machinist in setup and troubleshooting.
• Responsible for machine turnovers to adjacent shift operators.
• Ability to understand and document requirements of Inspectin Plans.
• Works overtime as required

• Other duties as assigned.

   

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

Three to six months related experience and/or training desirable but not necessary.

*LANGUAGE SKILLS: *

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, routers and inspections procedures

*MATHEMATICAL SKILLS *

• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations preferred but not necessary.

REASONING ABILITY: 

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

• Demonstrates mechanical aptitude

• Operates basic measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, surface plate checks and optical comparators desirable bot necessary.
