GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION The Research and Development Technician 3 works under moderate supervision to perform functions associated with R&D and/or production and engineering activities. Uses a variety of programs and machines to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to pre-production processes, instruments, or equipment. Works with engineers to build testing equipment and in conducting experiments on a variety of work, which is generally new or unstructured in nature. May train other workers and lead projects. REQUIREMENTS AS or Technical degree 6 years Technician experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience in a production environment. Ability to use basic measuring equipment including microscope, caliper, micrometer etc. May require ability to use complex laboratory equipment i.e. SEM/EDS, Auger, TGA/DSC, Acoustic Imaging System and Dilatometer etc. Ability to read, write and comprehend verbal and written instructions in English. Skill in applying basic statistics, formulas, excel Skill in reading mechanical drawings Pass drug and background check Willingness to wear finger cots, masks, and/or cleanroom apparel. Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods. Ability to grab small parts or hand tools with hands. Ability to lift and carry up to 35lbs. Eligible to work in an ITAR Environment ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performs setup and troubleshooting of various equipment. May be asked to evaluate new set up or procure workspace. Will train others on set up and provide support to more junior team members. Prepares and runs samples for testing. May build test set up and document results. May run engineering tests prescribed by engineer and provide results. May report on results using excel, charts, or tracking software determined by the process owner. May write or support data collection for failure analysis reports or other repor
